So I have a brand new sprint touch phone so I just run your OMJ exe by itself? Sorry Im a little new with this. I thought I had to run a unlocker before your fine OMJ exe?

if you can get to the bootloader (3 color screen), you can just plug in your USB cable and flash with another ROM or the same ROM again.

Hey Old_Man_Jenkins (or other knowledgeable individuals),

I was wondering if you can help me out in trying to figure out why the phone does not take the Rom and keeps getting bricked... I believe the problem can be isolated to the unlocking step...

If I push the phone into SPL, I see 2.31, but I am very suspicious of that since the unlocking procedure took a whole 1 second to write to the phone...

What is funny is that I dont have to go through all the procedures in the unbricking process. All I have to do is flash the Shipped version of the software and I am back in business (with some quirks though). What is even more puzzling is that I was under the impression that the SPL would be relocked back to stock and not remain 2.31...

So here I am with flashed original software and an SPL of 2.31...

I definitely do not know what the problem here is... I am using the computer at work but not sure why that would be a problem.

smkstang1: If you could still get into the bootloader (3 color screen) by pressing Power + camera + rest button, you could always flash directly using RUU utility using RUU_signed*

-> Plug the USB cable and on phone screen it should change from "Serial" to "USB"

*You have to know which bootloader needed to flash to ROM that you want.

I used the 2.31 unlock for this rom since it is what is stated in the instrux... I just cant get the ROM to load and work (I get stuck at the HTC screen)... I can get to the loader screen just fine and load the Shipped rom from there but THIS rom does not want to work for me.

I cant figure out what the problem could be since I am following instrux to the T...

you loaded up shipped ROM ? with the old radio ?? if yes, you have to unlock it again i believe. Try this:
1. restore to Original Shipped ROM
2. Go to bootloader screen and check if you still have the 2.31 coke
IF YES reload OMJ or Other Rev. A and GPS ROM

IF NOT
1. unlock it again until you get 2.31 coke
2. reload OMJ or Other Rev. A and GPS ROM

i think you should be good after that.

like i mentioned in my prev post " *You have to know which bootloader needed to flash to ROM that you want."

One last thing, MAKE SURE YOUR ROM file is not corrupted (Try extracting it using winRAR) --ppcgeeks been experiencing download problem from what i can tell.

You keep emphasizing that I need to know the bootloader... - Please elaborate

The process that I go through is (lets assume that is is unlocked ):

Force it into Boot (Power+Camera+Soft)
Run the Exe for the file that I need (ie OMJ rom or other)
Am I missing a step here?

I have ruled out the corrupted version thing because OMJ is not uploaded to PPC and I have tried another ROM (Dereck's ) and it sits at HTC Screen as well.

I feel like I am missing a small but crucial step here

Wow OMJ, didnt see you had new ROMs posted since last Friday. I want to update, but the lack to TouchPAL may be a deal breaker. I never liked TouchPAL until i started using it with your V2 ROM. Now its hard to use anything else. Any closer to figuring this out?

I assume the Sprint NEW ROM is a bare bones sprint ROM with the listed MODS, whereas the SPRINT NEW CUSTOM ROM is like your V2 ROM but updated. Correct?
