How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch

yeah, i experienced the same bit of lag (really not that bad though) in downloading the sat images when i was on the highway at 70-75mph...but on local streets it was right on...i did notice both my Mio and the Touch was behind the car position by about a couple of seconds...not bad though and as they both do it (as does my Nokia N810 GPS) I just think it's the nature of the beast.

How do I load the 3 unlock files? Only number 2 is a .cab file and the other two are .cpf files??

I expected the GPS performance to be snappy and keep up with me while I was driving... But... To have Google Maps redraw at 70MPH is expecting too much, I think.
I'll be on the prowl for dedicated PPC GPS software that may perform better.
Also, the little blue dot on Google Maps, is that supposed to represent "me" (my location)? If so, it is about 2 blocks off while driving...
Still, I'm loving this GPS feature! It is young and will mature quickly.

I was driving through town yesterday at 60ish (I drive fast) and google maps was able to keep up just fine. Funny but when I hit campus and had to deal with stop signs and then got out and walked in the open it got all screwy and was putting me all over the place. It would jump from place to place.

Also, is there a setting in Google Maps to make it follow you in GPS mode. I had to sit and scroll as I drove (very annoying) I thought this was a feature but cannot find it.

wildthing- 32 is just tooo freaking cold for me...in google maps, just click on menu and My LOcation and it'll follow you...that's what worked for me.

neonshark - copy those three files onto the phone in any folder, and run them from the phone...when you click on num1 and num3 they will appear to do no more than make the screen blank, but they have run...num 2 is a cab and follows the typical cab install process. you can delete them once they are done

Just finished installing the Alltel rom...can't get a gps lock, but I think its cuz its raining outside and nasty out. Tried GoogleMaps, LiveSearch, installed the 123 files and the gps enable, tried quickgps too. Just gotta wait til the sun comes out?

look through this thread...i think someone supplied a different link for the files...should be somewhere between page 2 and page 10 or so...
