Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?
I had to do a hard reset tonight, I was trying to save myself some time by adding a renamed copy (xtra1.bin) as well. Had some trouble getting them to transfer but finally did, no problem until I rebooted my Touch Pro (Alltel) and what would happen as soon as it would get fully rebooted, it would reset itself and all that it would do was set there with the vibrator vibrating and a dark screen, the options were to reset it myself and it would go through the process again. Got in touch with my son and he suggested a hard reset and that worked. Now I'm reinstalling stuff again.
But with all this QuickGPS still doesn't work. ![]() ![]() |

Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?
Had the same thing happen to me
![]() To make matters more fun, my gps is still not working right even after a hard reset, app reload (not quick gps), and copying the bin again. Hope you have better luck. |

Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?
Exact same scenario - GPS access would get good lock then nothing. sometimes the phone would reboot. The fix in this thread resolved the issue.
Sprint Diamond stock Rom Anybody see any response from the carriers or HTC? |

Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?
For those interested I have made a cab that should solve your GPS problem.
Use it at your own risk, I was not going to leave this as a stand alone fix. These are registry and file entries that I was going to implement in my next Telenav optimizations, but should work here. EDIT: It is my belief that "QuikGPS" is not the culprit, just the "messenger". The conflict of data interaction is the issue, and my cab should "divert" the issue. I could be totally wrong, but I am guessing the carriers agps data, is the issue.

Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?
Update:
ok I tried to simulate my conditions of reset so I can test my cab. I re-installed both the rom and specific radio that gave me the problem. As of now I could not get the phone to fail. All working with QuikGPS enabled. Something must have changed in my network area data and/or quikGPS data. Anyway I still testing. |
