Intermittent is probably the chronic problem that we have been facing since day 1 to which there is still no solution. I am talking about GPS crashing and reseting the phone, which appears to be a new problem recently. I guess no one has that problem anymore?

Also, as I was saying, on a clean (no qgps) rom or on stock rom without qgps, there is no xtra.bin file to change. So, I am just saying that in my case, probably others, that file is not the issue.
I am going to keep trying radio's until I have tried them all, and hopefully I will come across that magic combo.
My case has been solved. I had to re-do the GPS ulocks (for Verizon) and now it works with any rom/radio. I don't think, in my case, it had anything to do with QuickGPS, but it works now.
If your phone is already unlocked, you can use lllboredlll_VZW_GPS_Fix_v2.cab to re-enable your gps. Find the file and directions here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=49933

Good Luck

Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?

Agreed, QuickGPS working here since last week, using latest Verizon radio... Anyone think we will see this again in March 2010?

Re: Does GPS ever just 'go bad'?

Resurrecting old thread....

I had a similar GPS issue come up today. As soon as I got a satellite lock, the phone would suddenly lose the signal, and then soft reboot a few seconds later. After reading through the thread, I updated my QuickGPS data, and the issue was resolved without doing anything else. I must have been somewhat lucky in correcting the issue, but I wanted to post in case this helps anyone else out.
