Asurion replacing TP with TP2

I got a great surprise today. My wife lost her mogul so I called Asurion for a replacement. I asked them for a comparable phone instead of the Mogul. We were hoping at best to get a TouchPro. The first rep. told me they only exchange like phones for like phones so I asked to speak with someone else. He said everyone was too busy so I can take the mogul or wait 24 to 48 hours for a call back. I hung up and called back and got a friendlier person. She put me on hold to check if I could get a comparable phone. She came back and said she had good news. She said I could get a TouchPro 2. Should be here on Thursday. She said she was able to help us because my wife has received 6 moguls in the past.

It doesn't hurt to ask. I got my touch pro the same way back in Nov. Now I have my own TouchPro2 arriving tomorrow due to freezing problems. 2 TouchPro2s in one day. My wife does have to pay the 100 dollar deductible. I didn't due to Asurion's warranty.

How long are the warranties that come with Asurion replacements? I have a Touch Pro that I got in March from Asurion and I have the oil slick, over heating, and flaking chrome. Will repairs from Sprint void Asurion's warranty? I've had the keyboard replaced and the front housing will be replaced later this week.

i think they have a 1 year warranty. not sure bout sprint's repair voiding it or not though. but i dont think keyboard or housing will affect it. as long as esn is still the same which im sure it is. so u should be good

Thanks for the replies. I think my keyboard is going out again so if it does I'm just going to call Asurion instead of taking it to the Sprint store for repairs. I probably wont get a TP from Sprint anyways because when I went the last time the guy tried to sell me a TP2 for 200.

No luck for me, called at 6:00 a.m. pacific. Told the csr that my sprint repair center was replacing tp's with comparable phones, but mine was water damaged (true). She said no, so I said I needed time to decide to do the claim.

Called again at 10:00 a.m. pacific. For this csr I pretended I had done an online order and gotten the touch pro 2 as an option. I asked him if it had gone through. He helped me out, but he said it wasn't giving him any other options other than the TP so I told him I'd keep trying online. He did sound like he was trying ha ha.

I try to do it online, but when I make a claim it asks for me to call in to further verify my account before I even get to phone options.

Anyone have any luck today? I'm thinking of getting a replacement TP through asurion and if it works, good for me, if it ends up having hardware issues again, can I just go through a Sprint repair center even though it's an asurion replacement?

I tried today at 12pm CST, no luck either... I've been trying to decide if I should reflash my phone or just leave it stock. Unfortunately, for the emails, it SUCKS, for customizing tabs, it SUCKS, for using the weather with "my location" it SUCKS.... Even though, the stock rom does kick the crap out of the other's for the battery life!!! SO, what to do???

Guess I'll keep callin... Maybe if I call every day this week, and nothin, maybe I'll just have to send corp a nasty email... Maybe I'll email corp and ask them for the local verizon number and what they recommend for a verizon phone that would be a replacement to my TP!

Have you guys tried do the phone claim website yourself?

I did the online claim and it gave me a Pro2 as my only option.

I did get my phone today. Damn they are fast with shipping!

It won't let me past the first screen for phoneclaim. It just tells me to call in. If anyone gets a tp2 using the website today onward... post! I want to use that info when I call in.
