It is three (and I read this in Sprint's replacement pamphlet while in the store today). You're only allowed 3 replacements in a 12 month period but at their "sole discretion", it can be replaced with a like unit.
And of course I've had a rep say that if you have 3 within 6 months, that's when they swap it out, but I think that's at their discretion too.

alas, asurion is still offering tp1 for sprint exchanges this morning.

I was on my 3rd TP replacement and I had only had the phone for 2 months.
#1. Went to Sprint store and Sprint replaced it throuh asurion.
#2. Was crappy as soon as I got it, called asuion and had the pay the $100 fee and all.
#3. Called asurion to replace agai hoping I would atleast get a NIB TP and BAM!!! supervisor tells me that the TP is on back order and offers me a TP2. I think what people say is true, its about who you get.

EDIT: So I basically only had the phone for about 3 months before I got a free TP2 upgrade

!!!!

last week, sprint replaced the keybpard in my tp for nothing because i have tep. they also told me if it went bad again and they didn't have the part in stock, one of my other options was getting a completely different phone.

anyone here have this experience?

I received my TP just the other day from Asurion as a replacement for my vogue. I've been through 8 or so of those from the store and they wouldn't replace it with anything but another vogue, infuriating

I went to a corporate store last tuesday and they replaced the keypad and then later that day the keypad stoped working altogether...(This is my 3rd tp..) So i went to another corporate store by my job and they ordered me a new phone. But when I got the damn thing the up and down keys didnt work. So I to took it to a ASC and then they offered me the: htc snap, palm treo, palm pre, blackberry tour and the blackberry curve. And she also mentioned the memo saying that they werent even going to attempt to fix my phone. They were supposed to offer me the phones mentioned above as a replacement.... Which is bulls***! SO i had to go to a corporate store and they still couldnt fix it so they had to order me another phone and it is supposed to be here Friday. Im already on my 4th tp.. The 1st one keep freezing on my. The 2nd one.. The screen went completely blank on me but I could still reciever phone calls.

Has anyone in Oklahoma had any luck geting the tp2?

TP2 is available as an replacement for the TP as of yesterday. That I know of.

Yep... on one of my lines (TP1 /w SERO) I tried to file an insurance claim and was offered a Palm Pre. No thanks... working as a technical consultant for Sprint for a year and seeing how troubled those handsets are I'd rather find a used TP1 online somewhere and swap out the screen.

I have a TP2 as well on another line on SERO but since my screen cracked tonight at work on my TP1 I figured I'd file a claim and see what I got offered and report back in the process. I guess I'll take it into the store I used to work at and pay the extra $20 to do the insurance claim in-store and see what they will give.

Just got a TP2 from Asurion, I was having problems with my 4th Touch Pro and Sprint wouldn't fix it, my screen would randomly dim out and sometimes flicker when opening and closing the keyboard, and it would sometimes, randomly, put in extra spaces or none at all or it would press the apostrophe button 4 times and write " ',,' " ortypelike this andit was annoying. But since it was random, Sprint found no problem for it so I thought I'd just get a TP2 through Asurion lol :P Hope its good
