fyi, just wanted to report in that refurbished tp2's are available occasionally via multiple device. It just so happens that when I called last week, some were available. Instead of a 5th tp, I've got a tp2 now. Good luck for those with numerous faulty tp's.

Mine is on order, hopefully will get it in 2 days. took it to the sprint store next to the Lakewood Town Center Mall. The guy in there tried the $100 upgrade deal and I asked him if I lost it? Did I break it? Then why do I have to pay? I bought this TP for $585 back in April and it has been repaired or replaced 4 different times! On top of that I have to pay to have the full body Invisashield replaced all 4 times!

Trick is dont cuss, use a good attitude, and just point out, hey I have spent the money!!

He went to the manager and handed me a receipt for pickup in two days.

Yay... i got my today.. new out of the box... even has the new phone scent to it. I went to a corporate store only to be offer down grades and told that the touch pro 2 was not on the list of replacement by the assistant manager. He told me if wanted the touch pro 2 i could upgrade. Was left with a bad taste in the mouth. A week later i called customer service to let them know about my problem with the phone and the corporate store, how i had a bad experience with them. They transfer me to multi exchange where a rep told me that because i had replace it more than 3 times i needed to take to the corporate store. I told him about my bad experience with the store that is not even in my city, he told me he was going to talk to his super to see what he could do and he would called me in 2 days. 2 days later i get a called from and him informed that the super told him the same thing. Defeated i was beginning to accept my loss. 3 days later i get a called from a sprint rep asking me if my problem had been resolved i told her it had not. She then surprise to tell me she was going to look into it and see what she could do. She told me she was going to look at the notes and called me back in 30 mins. She called me back and told me i could upgrade and that sprint would credit my account, but that i needed to extend my contract... i like sprint service and i was getting a touch pro 2 so i said YES. thanks so much to that rep and sprint for following up. :) pops for Sprint.

My advised to people here.. is to be courteous to the reps.. they are just following rules from super and management.. and they are happy to help you if you act civilize. You will gain nothing by been rude to them, but only for them to think.. 'why should i help this person?'. So be polite.

Here is my story. :) Back in late october/early november my TP started acting up. Over heating, hinges were very lose. Took it in sprint store, they offered me the normal stuff, NO tp2. I took another tp1. Well last weel it started again, big suprise. Took to store and nice lady asked me if I liked the phone. I said yes and she said I was just wondering cause I can offer you other phones. I asked what can she offer, TP2 was top and the others that we all know are not comparable. So I said I guess the TP2. She never looked at my phone or anything. Got refurb TP2 yesterday. Did get power adapter. What come with a NIB phone?

Be patient and you will get upgraded. :)

log back in and cancel your claim. Then start the claim again and have a bad screen or USB port. The rest is history.

okay finally made some headway... I have a busted keyboard on my touch pro 1 (second one it happened to). Sprint repair center would have ordered me a TP2, but it was backorderd. They said to try the Sprint support number to see what they can do and ordered me a TP1 to hold me over. The TP1 is coming in today, and Sprint said that when I get it, call them back and they will send the TP2 along w/ a return envelope for the new TP1. But, I had to jump through hoops w/ Sprint support and once I got to Advanced Tech Support, they helped me out and made all the necessary notes on my account. So, w/ anyluck, I should be getting a TP2 by Thursday or Friday. Yes!!

Being curteous was a def help. Good tip for those of you getting angry at the reps on the phone. ;)

took my nieces tp1 since none of the front buttons were not working only the screen, and the rep just said come back on Wednesday we ordered an other tp1, they did not give me the option of choosing a different mode.

it seems to work better when you are your 2nd, 3rd, + touch pro.... and it could never hurt to ask for a different replacement

For what its worth, I called Sprint today and I will have my TP2 in 2-3 days. This will be my first replacemnt. My options were the Moment, Hero, and the TP2.

I have a Mogul with cracked screen. I filed a claim at asurion and they are replacing it with TP. Hmmmm, anyone let us know when they are out of TP. I did not complete the claim. I will just wait till they run out of TP. I have 60 days to complete the claim.

I have a 100 bucks deductible. But sprint ecare promised to waive it once I get the replacement. Is there any better way to get a TP2?

I went to repair center and they are charging 120 to replace the screen. I said, the mogul is not even worth 120. Why would I pay U? then he gave me asurion business card.

ive been holding out for the tp2 im on my fourth went in the store, two days back to back both days they gave me a defective phone that went bad in front of the rep even though it was bad. so they offered the three palm pre which im considering what u guys thinnk of it, bb tour bleh, and the treo NO! lol, or should i get another tp if i dont get my tp2 although i may just keep fighting for it. what number do you call to see if the tp2s are in stock.

I called in yesterday and spoke to advanced technical support. I explained my freezing problem and they offered my a tp2 refurb. I just got it this morning and it looks pretty good. I just wanted to say to everyone that is still trying, to be patient. It took me 4 store trips and about 9 calls in to sprint but I did get one. Thanks to everyone here for the tips.

Just got another tp2 from advance exchange was on my fourth tp called and told em hey my phone is stil acting u i am on my fourth tp and i want to know if i can get and advance ex , lady said k let me c what i can do and bam she said ok u have a choice she gve me three choices and the tp2 was one i took that in a heart beat called yesterday , here today yay and damn my tp is not even broken now i have to put it in the microwave hehehehe

i'm still in this thread to offer support for those still trying to get their faulty device replaced with a better one. there are quite a few people who have had multiple replacements that are getting stone-walled by sprint. what i don't want to read is some simpleton bragging that they scammed the system. what did they expect, a pat on the back for saying they got a free replacement when nothing was wrong in the 1st place? and NOW they want to purposely break their phone so sprint doesn't find out how much of a scumbag they are.

Thanks for the positive encouragement of this thread and the posters. I can now leave the Touch Pro forum and start participating in the Touch Pro 2 forums.

After three weeks, last week of calling every day to have the manager check for availability (at his request) he was able to score me one. I swaped my TP to the replacement (refurb model unfortunately) TP2 today. It looks like someone dropped this unit at one time and perhaps cracked the screen and they replaced it, as it shows notches on a corner which are hardly visible.. But that's neither here nor there. The unit otherwise is super nice and I am happy... Internet works!

Thanks again guys. If you have a legit issue don't give up!

unfortunately scams would and do happen. I for one would love to do so and get a "free" upgrade but there is honestly nothing wrong with my current TP except for that rainbow like stuff that blotched under my screen that I dont quite understand. either way i do look forward to the deserving legit success stories.

After reading the majority of the posts in this thread, I can only assume that a lot of people are making fraudulent claims. I can't imagine that Sprint or Asurion haven't noticed that as soon as they run out of TP stock, they start getting a huge influx of new claims and requests for TP2's. I would love a TP2 but my TP is fine and always has been. I can understand people who are frustrated with their handset, as I went through a simular ordeal with the Mogul, but you have to have really bad luck to be on your third or fourth TP handset. It seems like a much more solid device than the Mogul all around.

I really would love a TP2 though, if not just for the killer keyboard and the introduction of a real headphone jack! Oh well. Maybe when my TP breaks they'll really have something new to give me that's not going to inherit a lot of the same problems as I imagine the TP2 may.

i bought my tp from telesales 10/30/08. the sprint store couldn't provision it properly because they weren't selling them until 11/2/08. they gave me a replacement(new) from the back 11/1/08. that one locked up and i got a replacement on 11/11/08, which was a refurb. since then, i had 8 more replacements. if you were following any of the 1st tp2 threads, you'll see my posts saying that the tp2 is just a tp with a bigger screen. i didn't see an annoucement on the tp2 and decided, hey, i'll try and break my phone because now i want one. when my last tp died, i spent over an hour on the phone with tech support before THEY told me to go to a repair center. the repair center ordered the tp2 for me, meaning i didn't ask for it. all i wanted was a working phone. so no, i don't agree that just about everyone in this thread scammed sprint. like i stated before, i'm in this thread to give advice for the people with legit problems trying to get a replacement. but i see that towards the last part of this thread, people are becoming desparate and are now lying. if you go back 3-4 pages, there are people in this thread that got tired of arguing with reps, and said screw it, i'll pay $100 through asurion for a replacement. it's the scammers that are the real reason the ones with legit problems aren't being helped. having said all of that, good luck to the real people out there, i'm done in here.

I've had my phone 11 months. Frequent lockups and overheating. Call lasted about 30 minutes. You could tell the rep I spoke with was new so I dont know if that was a factor. I really didnt have to put up a fight, just explained my problems and the rep said they were having alot of trouble out of the Touch Pro's.
