Excellent service, but they did not have the TP2 as an option for my dieing TP. They are ordering a TP for me it seems but the owner is going to keep an eye out for the TP2 to be put back on the replaceable list. Going to call Sprint late tonight and see whats up. --PS |

Aw crap, I'm going to be pissed if they changed out my Touch Pro 2 order for something else.
EDIT: I got it at the SPrint store the service rep told me to go to. |

The only thing that gets my hopes up that they didn't "cheat" me is that if they went and changed it to a regular Touch Pro, I would have gotten the phone like the next day. Also, the guy said he was waiting for a couple of them to come in.

TP2 is still on the WEL list. It appears that some individual stores don't want to give it out as a replacement for whatever reason. Last I checked, it was OOS though.

This is for all Geeks are from NYC...Now I went to a Corp Sprint store to pick up my TP2. Once I was there I had the Rep ( She was very sweet ) going to get my phone but once she took the TP2 out the box..This Scumbag Manager told her what she was doing. She reply " I am swamping Mr.Bucks phone" He reply back.."Not in my store" Yeah that Motha......So she explain the list and yes I had TP2. He reply back I am not swamping TP2 for no one..So I ask for his business card and file a report on that bastard. Now I went to a third party sprint store ( Oct 10 ) and the manager show me my list but didn't want to order it. Reason because he a ( | ) Whole.....Went back today and spoke with the manager he told me I will exchange it with a TP2 with no problem...once he show me the list...Right Next to TP2...It had a no right next to it....Now this is when I flip on him and the person that didn't order it...That he was calling other stores to see he could swap my phone...No luck..so he told me that he going to have my list open and see if there any changes...Now for Corp Sprint..They all bunch of Uckers!!!! They knew the WEL Program and was trying to avoid the swap of TP to TP2. Reason I know is the Rep was helping me in the City..She is my customer where I work @. She reply me in Spanish stating they had a meeting about this WEL Program and if someone comes in offer the 2 phone on the list..Duh its in Alphabetical order...I don't want a HTC Snap aka Moto Q.
So for all those NYC Geekers....We got screw Hard Body!!!! We had all the rights to change our phone..It was offer to us...but the managers did not want to hear it because they will lose $$$$$$$.... I really want this "Ron Mobbley Jr" To get reported! Store # is ( 212 ) 702 8933.......He was Rude! He didn't ask for my Name and Number..Straight denied me..and now I lost a chance to swap a phone.. CuzinBucksBx... |

At another forum, a guy said he went and got his order put in on Monday and that he got a tracking number (being sent to his home) that says it will be delivered tomorrow! Hopefully I get mine tomorrow too, since I also got my order placed on Monday...

I'm willing to drive anywhere in SoCal, San Diego, LA, to Riverside don't care. |

For those who keep saying the TP2 is not on the WEL list it was still there on Wed afternoon. My corp store tried to order it but it was OOS. I went to a 3rd party store and the CSR was clueless and no help (big surprise there). The thing that most here are not remembering is that the replacement is to be a refurbed TP2 which is why they are not able to order. It seems that the scant few that are getting a TP2 replacement have either gotten a returned unit (purchased and returned within 30 days) or was able to get their store to order a NIP TP2 and swap out. We may have to wait for some time before Sprint starts to send out TP2's as replacements.

Any employees want to weigh in on whether the TP2 is still on the WEL list? We've been hearing he said/she said all day and it's been going both ways.
On a side note, it would suck if it's off. My corp store was willing to do the switch as soon as it came back in stock. |

can anyone confirm that sprint is still replacing tp's for tp2's? My keyboard died and I've been using the on screen kb to type but it's really annoying.

I'm hopeful that that won't be the case. The store I went to is a corporate store, not just an authorized reseller/repair shop. The corporate stores have to follow the rules methinks...
A question I have is that if the phone doesn't come out of the pockets of the stores, why be such ****s? Just because it means someone other than you is getting a great deal, you have to kill it? |

I called customer service yesterday and was told I could choose between the SNAP, Treo or the Curve. I asked for a touchscreen and was told at this time there were none available. It seems the TP2 has dropped off the WEL list (for now). Keyboard failure isnt cool.

let me try to break it down for everyone.
1. third party stores will exhange your tp for tp2 easier than corporate stores. 2. both stores AND *2 work off the same screens. 3. there are currently no tp2 phones available, and they can't be ordered/backordered. 4. so, until there is a supply of them (wel list gets updated daily i'm told by sprint), no one is getting a tp2 for a tp exchange. |

good breakdown. now the only thing that we need to do is update this DAILY on if the tp2 are back in stock. so if you called to check please just in a few words tell us if they got the tp2 in stock or not. thats it. just so the people who are waiting for them to get back in stock will know.
and one more thing: -my phone keyboard occasionally goes out like half the time, but when i took it to the store it was working again, the repair guy looked at the phone for an "hour" and told me its fine. -my phone also heats up occasionally. -started doing this recently, it turns off on its own from time to time. and more stuff but i cant prove any of this stuff to my store cause it only happens time to time. any suggestions on what i can do? thanks :) |

May have to exchange mine but I don't care if it is TP1 or TP2.
My device isn't that old but it has been pretty solid. Starting to have screen blackout issues and device freezing while using the G-sen at times. Pulling out the keyboard and going into landscape sometimes doesn't want to go back to portrait after sliding the keyboard back in. Sometimes locking up the device. As I am not a big keyboard user so that isn't usually a big deal. I prefer virtual keypads. TP2 looks nice but I still love my TP1 as well. Hero is looking sexy to me right now too. :) |

someone on here said that a on the phone sprint rep said it will be 5-7 days and i belive that was wed. so i think ima check monday.

I don't see how you guys had any luck. My phone has a ton of genuine issues, not the least of which is that the keyboard doesn't work. Ive been through 4 TP's
Ive been to 6 stores. One told me that " The TP2 wont be coming back in stock anytime soon, if at all, there are major defects and they probably wont be releasing the phone to stores" One told me upon giving them my ticket numbers given to me by a sprint rep on the phone "These are fake and just random numbers you wrote down"<--- this didnt go very well, I told the guy off and walked out. Called up sprint and complained, and they really didn't care. One told me "Sprint in no way would ever replace the TP1 with the TP2" that im wasting my time. 3 or 4 told me that if I DO want to see if its in stock, I have to go through the ENTIRE process over again of them checking my phone, telling my long story etc to get to the point where they see the list of WEL phones. 3 separate people Including a supervisor over the phone told me that sprint phone reps in NO WAY under ANY circumstances can issue TP2's, even if they wanted to. That they don't even have the ability. One told me that The Refurbs are out, but corp rules state that in an advanced exchange even in this situation that "Theres no way Im even remotely allowed to give a new TP2 for a TP1" And finally, last but not least the many many many "yes, the refurb TP2 is in stock." I get there to find they lied.. yet AGAIN. Sprint is by far one of the worst companies i've ever had to deal with. |

okay for one. sprint WILL TRY THERE VERY HARDERST TO NEVER EVER let a customer switch MODEL. and thats wat there reps go by. BUT some reps truly dont know that they are allowed to do this unless the try and see the famous "list." usually the only people who will tell you that they can do it is supervisors (if they are truely nice and helpful) and well knowledgable employees. and u can usually find these nice people at third party sprint stores. however, this is new where tp1 are replaced with tp2. and its not a sales inventory they are replacing with, its refub inventory. and right now due to the phone being new the refurb inventory is out and will hopfully soon be full again. point being, give this some time where employees will know of the issue (due to some customer screaming at them about the problem so they become aware) than try ur luck again in a lil while. be very nice to the reps, thats how i got a nice guy, i was nice, he said they offering tp2 (this was at a third party location) but they out of stock so im being patient.

i was also told by a sprint store rep yesterday that they will not be selling the tp2 in store. i questioned him and he seemed fairly certain about it.

For What It's Worth:
I stopped in at my local 3rd Party Retailer and spoke to the manager, who is a friend. He said that Sprint has disabled the option for them to upgrade the Touch Pro through TEP. The only options available for the foreseeable future are the TP1, Palm Pro, Snap and Blackberry. When they asked Sprint why they weren't able to get much of an answer, however, I do believe I have one. I additionally spoke to a friend of mine who works at Sprint Corporate HQ. He said that there has been so much fraud with people trying to upgrade for free that they had to put a stop to it. The TP2 has a sim card and for that reason, it costs Sprint more money--as in they loose money--every time they switch someone from TP1 to a TP2. Like I said, accept it or not as an explanation. It it up to you. |

this makes sense... but the regional director that happened to be at the store i was at that i spoke to on monday said that HTC basically recalled the phone and was going to pay sprint for every replacement issued due to the TP1. So i dont get what Sprint is saying that it costs them anything if this guy told me otherwise.... The phone is definitely still on the WEL list, don't let the stores fool you.
I called to make sure of the status of mine today and the guy said that he's still waiting for the OOL status to change so he can place the five TP2 orders he's taken (including mine). He said that he would call me when it got to the store. Sprint told me that they should be able to have it by Wednesday. |
