None of the stores I have seen say that. They either have Repair checked or grayed out... -- no option at top to even select Replacements(by mail)

I got 1 up the street from me.... yay but movin along movin along....
I got the touch por1 and that little door on the back the dcreen, left to the camera if the kb is out... yea is slides up.... well I dropped my phone and it the kb came out but then when i went to got txt somethin was pokin me in the finger and it was a spring so I cut it shorter so no pokin me but now that door wont go down and my ribbon is expose.... what should I do? Any chances of a free upgrade? |

Alright..I have my update for the NYC Area. The Sprint rep call my job to let me know that TP2 was here to pick up. Once I got there her manager was asking what are you doing ( Just of the look on the manager face I already know he is a straight D***). She reply well Mr Bucks here have the WEL Program and this is his 5th phone. So we exchanging it for him. Its on the list. This Motha.....reply back "Well not in my store" He look @ me and offer me a Black Berry Curve. (O_o)!!!! I told him are you joking right...He told me that in his own words.."I am not losing money" I told him for **** himself and I will report him & his store.....Now I have to go to a other store in the City and see this could be done

That sucks man. How did the original person who you took your TP to go about it? Did he take just your phone number and ESN and thats it?
That's what my guy did. Just hope he doesn't forget to call or something :p I called Sprint though and they said that they'll be back-ordered for another 5-7 days :( |

if you go to the store and they order it for you do they give you any receipt for the order or just tell you it was ordered?

No receipt, but it's input into the system and anyone from sprint can see the notes on your account that it's been ordered for you. But then again, it seems every store is different, some adhere to the memo that's been posted, some don't...crazy.

Went to an ASC today, the spring website listed it as "replacements by mail" or whatever. The guy helping me out called the store manager and came out with a handwritten note with "Treo Pro, HTC Snap, and Blackberry Curve" on it. As he showed it to me, he crossed of the Snap from the list telling me it would pretty much be a downgrade if i got that and offered me the Pro or the Curve. I told him i didn't want either and asked him about the TP2 and he immediately told me he'll be right back and went into the office.
came back out and went to the corner to talk to the assistant manager who then with the look of **** on his face came to me and told me that the TP2 is a 500 DOLLAR PHONE! and He can't give me one to replace a Touch Pro! I told him that I was pretty sure it's on the WEL list but he wouldn't budge. Then he left and the guy who was trying to help me out came back and said he's sorry but at this point my best bet is to talk to the store manager who will be in tomorrow morning. so that's my story |

We have four Touch Pro's on our account and all four have had the keyboard fail. I took mine in to an ASC on Saturday and they replaced the keyboard. However, now it will just sit there with the keyboard closed and it will toggle between landscape and portrait. So I took it back to the same ASC yesterday evening. I didn't ask for a replacement; I simply told them I had it in Saturday for the keyboard and now it has the new problem. They immediately asked me if I would consider changing to a new model. I asked them what my choices were and they included the TP2, which in my mind is the only like-model of the four choices (the HTC Snap as a replacement for the Touch Pro is a joke). I told the lady helping me that I would take a TP2 and she immediately stated she'd have to check on availability and it wasn't available when she checked. I asked if I could wait for one to become available and she said "no". She also told me that once I changed there was no going back to a Touch Pro. I asked why phones like the Palm Pre weren't offered (even though I wouldn't have taken one) and she said they were trying to offer phones with the same "business features" as the Touch Pro and that the Pre doesn't have wifi (which I knew to not be true). I told them the other choices weren't satisfactory and she got manager approval to order me another TP (a new one, I believe).
I briefly considered the Blackberry Tour but thought I would be giving up too much in the exchange. Through my employer I get a discount on service and equipment and can get a Tour for free while I paid $99 for the Touch Pro. If they wanted to refund me the difference (our 4 TP's are only 4 months old) then that may have swayed me into a Tour. The geek in me wants to load new ROM's and customize my phone (and I do use the windows features) but as our IT Manager I also was thinking I may want to sacrifice some oohs and ahs for a more reliable phone and I am going to tell my other three users what is going on and IF their phones fail again (two of them were replaced with refurbs in the last three weeks before the Sprint decision to move to other models came out) then I will tell them they may want to move to the Tour. So that's my story. I've been pretty happy with my TP since I started using WM6.5 Roms from this site back in June (I DESPISE WM6.1 and hated going back to it when I had to take my phone in for service, and yes the phone still had the same symptoms with the stock Sprint ROM). I am not trying to scam my way into a new TP2 but I have come to the obvious conclusion that the TP is a very unreliable phone from a hardware standpoint. I'm even questioning if I want a TP2 since it may suffer the same problems. |

So I called Sprint Advanced Technical Support and they said that if the store put in an order for the phone, that they are the only ones who would know what customer the phone is for specifically. Sprint only knows what store put in what orders, not for which customers the orders are specifically.
But she said to make sure I check everyday myself because the store could forget to call if an order comes in for me. When I went there the guy was trying to fixing the guy in front of me's Moto Q. He gave up trying, went in a drawer and just pulled out an envelope with another one of the same phone and put the guy's busted one in the envelope. So it seems that in fact, the store just orders replacements and stock just to try and have stuff ready for their customers when they get there. I also forgot to mention that the store I went to was marked as a "ReadyNow" store on the Sprint repair center lookup page, not a "replacements by mail" place. |

I went to the sprint store yesterday to get my phone serviced because of keyboard failure! Well, long story short, all-in-all she told me that the TP2s were out of stock, but told me they won't have them till AFTER DECEMBER!(?) What a bunch of crap! Than she told me my only options for an exchange would be a Palm Pro or a HTC Snap......first off...WTF is a Palm Pro.......and while we are on the subject WTF is a HTC Snap?!?!?!?! So I was talking to her in a nice manner and mentioned the new program they had with the swapping and she told me "I don't know, we never heard of anything like that. Sprint wouldn't switch you out for one of those anyway, they would lose too much money!" and kept telling me no!
At that point I stopped trying and just thought I would try another store or even a Wireless Toyz who has an authorized repair shop in it! So I'll be persistant and keep trying.......but what she also said was....... ....."HTC has a new phone coming out in December called the *******!" I forgot what name she said, was kindah pissed about the TP2 but she said it's supposed to be the Touch HD2! So maybe sprint is losing money swaping these phones........or maybe she was full of feces! |

Damn, I got lucky I guess (like someone said earlier). The service dude I talked to at the store was excited to trade me up :lol: He was like, "Well you are in luck! You can choose to trade for bla bla bla or the Touch Pro 2" I asked for the latter and he handed me a Touch Pro 2 dummy phone to play with while he put in the order. Said including mine, he was waiting for five TP2s to come in.

I've had this idea for a while and now maybe it's time to implement!
Why doesn't everyone document WHO they talk to at WHAT store and complain? Yah that's not new, let's keep track of who's a bad useless rep (also goes for those on the phone!) That way sprint can see why their company is going down hill! I'm willing to host it if you guys want to do it! We could probably get a sub forum on here to show what's going on and would be easier for everyone since it'd just be 1 site |

Well guys, don't go to the store on Ed Noble parkway in Norman, OK. They wouldn't give me a TP2, my choices were a BB, the snap, another TP, or a Treo pro. I ended up picking another TP. Oh well. Guess I'll keep trying. I might try calling Sprint, or maybe try the other repair center in the city.

No luck here in the Houston area, I have canvassed the city. I came closest to success today at a sprint by compro store. At first my only option was palm pro, I asked her to pull up my account and when she looked into the notes she whispered "oh my god" she said I had a lot of open tickets. Her and manager looked at my notes for a few minutes and called someone higher up in the company, on the phone for a while, I was getting excited. She added the option of the snap. Hell no. So I ask about the tp2 she said her managers manager specifically said she not to give any of those out because It is an upgrade. Well I deserve and upgrade if the only other options are downgrades. BTW I'm on my 5th malfunctioning TP since november. I hate these stingy managers.

i had a rep at a repair center order me a tp2 on sunday, he said no big deal, it will be here in a few days. today i call and he says its here come and get it. i get there and its a damn tour!!!!!!!!!!!! hell no, he told me a tp2 and then he tells me thatits no longer on the list and changes my order without calling me. customer service says tough sh@t. called a different store and he says he will take care of it for me, we shall see...
