no idea if any stores replace by mail... maybe ones in Alaska or something.

I just called the store and my TP2 is in stock and waiting for me!

One of my corporate stores has that replace by mail thing. Its where I got my first replacement. I walked in and i didn't even hand the phone over to the lady before she started ordering me a replacement. She offered me everything other than a Touch Pro 2. I asked if it was available and she said no. So I got a replacement TP1.

Thanks for fast replies guys and no lol I'm not in Alaska ahaha I was looking at my nearest stores in the LA county area =P I guess i'll be going there to try and get it replaced for a touch pro 2 soon.

2007 member and you didnt know u got hosed here?? SPrint was ordered months ago to never give out a refurb TP1 again.. the company memos are all over the web on this.. asurion will give u refurbs soemtimes still, but their not sprint.. Sprint branded the TP1 the most defective phone theyve ever had several months ago.. thats when the real big push for TP1 to TP2 xchanges happened

I'm a 2007 member too and I just got a replacement TP1. They offered me other phones except for a TP2. The tech even said that the TP1 was better than every other phone that was offered.

Well first of all I don't see it as getting "hosed", because I am not entitled to anything more than a functional TP1. In fact, I got the TP1 for free because my Mogul which Sprint paid me 50 dollars to have, had a white spot on the screen. After getting my initial replacement, I had to take the refurb in to a repair center because it was absolute garbage and they replaced it again with a refurb TP1. I am not going to march into sprint demanding they replace my phone with a TP2 while waiving a memo. If I happen to get lucky when I bring my TP in for service than I will be very grateful towards sprint for offering me a TP2 as a replacement.

thats exactly why they arent suppose to give out anymore, its basically ineviteable youll be in for service and repair and even prob a replacement.. and who said anything about a TP2, not me, the memo doesnt say a thing about them having to upgrade to the TP2, just that their not suppose to give out refurbs anymore

I was given a refurb TP1 today as a replacment when I took my defective one in for repair. The upper half of the screen was much darker than the lower portion. The refurb is much slower than my other one.

i dont stand why you people do it.. you have 3 options flat out... first you have to realize you bought a peice of junk that looks great, acts great(for a bit), then requires constant maintence and repair.. think of your TP like a ford mustang.. afterall mustang stands for Must Use Special Tools And Nasty Gadgets lol... just accept you bought a lemon already.. now your choices

1) take a refurb that you know will keep breaking, even though you have options

no matter what, you guys just need to make your decisions already.. if you keep taking refurbs, knowing their gonna break, then ok thats your choice.. but why post everytime it freakin breaks again.. i mean come on, you knew it was gonna break.. like i said, its cruel, unfair, bad just all the way around, but its time to act, or just stop it already ya know... if you want a tp2, their easily attainable even for like 50bucks more to you. if you dont want a TP2, but wanna be able to stop having to complain about a broken phone, then take something else as suggested and move on already..

just please make up your minds already sheesh

I will march into sprint and demand they give me their most expensive phone for free on the 30 dollar SERO plan they do not offer anymore after already upgrading me from a Mogul to a TP for free and initially paying me 50 dollars to take the Mogul. How they have wronged me. Now I see the light.

Haha. Oh Great and Wise Sir-Chasm, teach me your ways.

I'm in the same boat with the SERO plan, and since they called me to see if I needed to modify my plan at all I'm not pushing it.
I've been reminding them, occassionally (every couple weeks), that their advertised retail price of the TP2 is only $20 more than the TP... oh yeah, and my eyes are sore from looking at a tiny screen.
If I don't see an HD2, a WinMo WiMax phone, or a WinMo phone w/ a 3Dchip, I will be pushing at one of the Managers in the Customer Retention Dept.
All & all, I know my TP has been an HTC Adonis compared to the Mogul, lol.

Anyone in Los Angeles area have any luck?

Until now there have been no TP2's in retail stock even for sale. I heard they might be rolled out later this week.

just found out that me and another guy on ppcgeeks happen togo to the same sprint location and got ours swapped. i went today he did weeks ago. we pretty much did same thing.

- got rep over phone to make notes on ticket
-went in repair store
-got tp2's

go be all about location! location! location!

Hey I'm located it near Los Angeles mate, I haven't had any issues enf to take my TP to a store by let me get you the address where i plan on taking my touch to :p

Just spent hours on the phone...call went all the way to Retentions......NO DICE!!!

Best they could offer was $50 off the contract price of the phone.

Don't call retentions mate :P you will have better luck most likely just going to a sprint store over and over with noticeable or no problems at all and trying to get it replaced.

im on my 5th TP and.............. still waiting.

Seems like, (to me anyways) that the only store ur gonna get a TP2 from is one that carries the TP2 in the first place... a key to the successful replacement of the ?%"@'t up-TP for a TP2 is going to a store that carries it int the first place....


still no luck for me and my region i guess.... :-x!

First- I love your response. Had to thank ya.

Second- has anyone with SERO but got the TP2 noticed anything wierd with their plan- like loosing unlimited txt? There is a discussion on Sprintusers about this and was just wondering. Or use this as a warning to keep a close eye on your SERO accounts!

Just got back from the Sprint store and it was a no-go. They first tried to get me to upgrade (my contract is over). Then they said they would send out for another replacement that should be there by Friday. Oh well, my phone was fuct. Needed to get a new one anyway, TP1 or TP2.

Pembroke Pines store was the ONLY store in the area that would even consider it, but they were unable to order it because it was OOS. I ended up getting one after calling ATS about a million times.

Well, to my shock and amazement, I never got a call back. I guess I'm back to the drawing board. I am really tired of this, because the refurb TP's I keep getting sent don't work right. Ugh.

So I bought a mogul probably at full price when it was being offered... a long time after, it breaks and i have it replaced (antenna "died"). I get a nice white spot on screen, but guess what? No more refurbs are available. More than a month later they give me a NIB TP. Yay is me? Now I have a POS that replaced a BAD ASS phone. So I'm supposed to be sorry? I don't have a sero plan, I am premier (don't even know wtf that is other than my free monthly ringtone and other garbage i don't want/need) and i have over 13 lines on my account. So now I have to suck it up and go through N number of tp's until someone who is feeling charitable 'upgrades' me again to a device that isn't a POS?

I'm not being rude, internet people, but these are the facts of my situation. Everyone has to back up what they say, and businesses have to back up their products. If we/they don't, that's what court is for. I keep asking for a mogul because I still love that phone, despite it's memory limitations! I wish I could get it back to be honest. It was rugged, it's screen was protected with the bevel and had enough buttons to make everyone happy. But no, I get the broken ferrari that is also an eye sore now (not due to me).

Just called them today and was told by the escalations "floor manager" for Adv. Tech Support that the unread texts problem had been reported to Sprint and HTC and they were working on a CAB-based fix for it, which should be out next month, and I'd just have to suck it up until then.

just got call that my replacement phone is in.(dont understand why they would call at 6:45pm) its suppose to be a tp2. will see when i get there. im at work now store closes at 10pm goin to have to rush over there on my break. i cant wait for tomorrow to come, have to get tonight. will update to confirm.

Bad post. You have legitamite points, but what good does this do here? No ones perfect, and to get a little box we carry around in our pocket to do what we want it to do is difficult. Sprint and HTC are trying. I recomend you should switch to Verizon. They have better customer service for those who want it. Good luck finding a phone that can do as much as a TP without any problems. I like my phone, and am sticking to it.

No, that is what competition is for. If one company is not performing to the standard you desire, it is your right to switch to a different company. You would be laughed out of court if you attempted to sue. You chose to sign the contracts with sprint whether or not you have TEP, and nothing they are doing has violated the contract.

As many others have stated, if one store doesn't work go to a different one. It took me to get to the 3rd store before they swapped mine. And believe it or not, YOU CAN ONLY GET A TP2 FROM A STORE THAT CARRIES IT! The 1st store I was going to (only for repairs) didn't carry it and I didn't find out about the ''memo'' until afterwards when some guy came in talking about another store told him he could get a TP2.
It's also all about who you talk to and how nice you are. Don't buy the "they won't swap it if you're nearing your contract end". I was a month away from mine ending and they swapped mine. I did also ask the host if I could be swapped to a different unit (not mentioning the TP2). 15 mins later, I was leaving the store with an order put in for my TP2. They gave me that option themselves.
