I agree, and I think he replied to this well enough on his own, though still with an attitude :dontknow:. I personally am always calm and relaxed when I deal with reps. i agree, but you are reading what i am from that person. can you imagine what they are like in person? i'm speaking from experience, once a rep puts bad notes on you, you are screwed. at that point, sprint will let you walk than deal with it.

Oh, I know. (I edited my comment a bit after you quoted it, adding a note about still with the attitude). I can say that I tend to be very even tempered.. but if you feed me enough crap I can get pissed as well, so there's a chance that if I was in the same position I would be acting the same way myself. So, like I said, I wont preach.

I do have to say that the continued attitude directed at individuals in this forum is what is making me more prone to siding with Sprint/you on this one. I have made pissed off posts where I sounded like I had a hell of an attitude (on other forums). If I was called out on it I would normally just wander off and relax myself a bit before coming back with a more level head.

Just saying that I completely understand his position and opinion/anger... and I don't blame him.. but at the same time I am less and less inclined to believe that he has been cool, calm, and collected when dealing with reps so far. That is all.

IF YOU HAVE TEP (Total equiptment protection), have a hardware failure (screen,KB,ect) log on to Phoneclaim.com (Asurions web site) , file a claim , pay your 100 deductible, and get a TP2 (otherwise known as a 7380) because they are out of TP1's. End of argument. Stop trying to get Sprint to give you a "FREE" one.

Do you know if the deductible went up recently? Or am I on some old plan? Or what? As I mentioned earlier, IIRC I only paid $50 for my TP when I lost my mogul.. Maybe I have a lower deductible since I have a 5 year old plan before smart phones and $100 deductible existed? Or the mogul wasn't considered a "smart phone" so it didn't qualify for the higher deductible? :dontknow:

are TP2's available under advanced exchange yet? I was offered 4 different phones and told them i would wait for the TP2 but still haven't been able to snag one. Any suggestions?

i don't think advance exchange via online claim works anymore as they stopped the service for that, now you are required to go to a local store or call sprint, chances are if you have had 3 replacements in under 6 months they force you to go to a store.

Yes the deductible went up to $100.

This is my story... I bought my touch pro early last year. Within a month the keyboard went out, took it to the store, got it replace by a new touch pro, all was good until the screen went dead every time I slided the qwerty out. To make the long story short went to at least 6 touch pros until last month that I took it a tech store only to be offer phones i didnt believe were align with my touch pro, i asked them about the touch pro2 the assistant manager told me that was not a go go and if I wanted i could get it by putting another 300 plus bucks for it. I decline the offer and took in the refurb touch pro. I called sprint the following week. Talked to a rep he transfered me to multi exchange. Multi exchange told me that since I had replace it 6+ times that i needed to take to the repair sprint store. I told him that the store was 15 miles away and that I had a bad experience with the store last time I went. He told he would see what he could do and he would talk to his supervisor and get back to me in 2 days. When i got his called back he told me that his supervisor told him the same thing that i needed to take to a sprint repair store. I was mad but I thank the rep for helping me out. when all seemed lost and I was to lived with touch pro for a little longer. I got a call from sprint asking me if my issue had been resolved i told the rep it hadnt. she politely apologized and said she would see what she could do. After hearing my story and looking at her notes she told me that she said a couple of devices that could replace the touch pro.. and she did mention the touch pro 2. i told her that i would be interested in the tp2 she said she would charge it to my account, but also credit it, so i wouldnt paid for the phone.. so thank you sprint.. i have my confidence back :)

PS there was a catch. I extended my contract.. but shoot i dont care.. i like sprint service is only customer service i get a little scare.

When I choose "keypad does not work/sticks" as the reason it tells me to handle it with Sprint. Is there another reason I should be putting? My keyboard doesn't work anymore. I dropped it for the first time ever last week and it has been acting crazy since. It freezes mid-type whenever I use the on-screen KB. Hard reset doesn't fix it. Regardless, the phone needs to be replaced due to the dead KB.

Legally I'm not sure if I can just put any reason down since I read there is an affidavit.

Im getting my touch pro 2 on Monday through asurion. Sprint didnt seem as though they were gonna bend on getting me one. Im currently on my 6th phone (anything from sceen going crazy and blacking out to keyboard typing an A when i want an L). I payed the $100 deductible better than paying for the phone and i had received the touch pro for free so it was worth it. And seeing as the HD2 is for TMO (BS! :violent1:) ill take the tp2 for now :occasion5:

I just went to the Sprint repair store near my house because phoneclaim.com said that if the phone is malfunctioning blah blah blah. Long story short the guy couldn't fix the screen, it was going black. He was not in a good mood just got chewed out by the guy before me, just told me he couldn't fix it and ordered me a new one, no option for what phone I wanted or anything. Got home called Sprint to try and see if I was getting a TP2 they said that I would have to call the store to see what the replacement was. Called the store and I'm getting a TP2 Monday!! Said the warehouse is out of TP1.:occasion5:

I was on my second Touch Pro (Sprint replaced the first one after issues receiving calls and texts - diagnosed on the phone w/ Sprint and they sent a replacement next day). I used the second Touch Pro for the last two months and it began to show some nasty problems...

getting hot
keyboard issues
randomly shutting down (backlight remained on). To reboot you had to repress the soft reset and then hold the power button and it would boot back up.

I called Sprint and they agreed there was a problem, but since it was a hardware issue and there was know way to diagnose over the phone, they noted the problems in my account notes and advised me to take it to a Sprint repair center.

Over Christmas break I took it into a Sprint store and kindly explained the problems. They said they would need the phone for 30 minutes to run tests. I took my SD card out and gave them the phone. I left and returned 30 minutes later. I walked up the counter and the clerk explained that there were problems founf with my Pro and since it was the second one I had had they has activated a TP2 for me. :occasion5:

It was already programmed with my contacts. I thanked them and left a happy Sprint customer!

As soon as I got home I hit up ppcgeeks and started burning ROMs. :occasion5:

Well, I decided to try my hand at it, just out of curiosity. Had to go to a Sprint store to get my wife's phone serviced so I figured, what the heck while I'm there I'd ask. Told the rep that my phone overheats if I use it at all while charging... she proceeds to tell me that all phones get hot if you use them while they're plugged in... I just rolled my eyes and said "Ok". I'll try talking to a different rep, or maybe an actual tech, when we go to pick up my wife's replacement Q9c (which is a whole DIFFERENT story) on Monday/Tuesday...

we are just SOL in the LA/OC area. ive been to (almost)every store... the only way we're getting tp2s is by quitting sprint and going with t-mobile www.wmdeals.com

Getting my tp2 on tuesday or wednesday. got it through sprint, not assurion. I brought my tp in and showed them my screen issues about a week ago and he said he'd replace it with a tp. Then i told him i was not really happy with the phone in general and wondering if there was any way of getting a tp2 and he said that would be no issue at all but that they were currently out of stock (because they can only replace tp's w/ refurbed tp2's). So i called every couple of days, and i got lucky today because they have one in stock.

One thing I find interesting is that many stores and phone reps are instructing people call Asurion for malfunction/screen/kb issues. Asurion reps and their website tell you to call Sprint with those issues. Wonderful. :\

i have been having problems w/ the keyboard not respnding, so I went to a service center. I told them it happened once before, which it did, and they said they can replace it w/ the same, the pixi, blackberrys etc. So I inquired about the touch pro 2. he said I could get it, but it's on backorder. Then he told me to call sprint and they said they could only replace it w/ a tocuh pro. So I went back to him and he said he will get me the touch pro, and when the tp2 is off backorder, i can get it. gotta call every few days now... can't friggin wait! :)

This is Sprint trying to pass the buck. Asurion is ONLY for lost or physical damage, nothing else. A malfunction that you didn't cause is Sprint's issue to fix or replace.

If you got the phone from Asuiron as a replacement they have a year warranty on their phones. I dumped mine in a lake in July, phone acted up 2 weeks ago, called them, they sent out a refurb. But they were the ones responsible for dealing with my issues, stuck in landscape, buggy software. They are the ones to call if your phone is from them.

Change your plan to Everything 450 and ask for a discount/credit to be placed on your account for part of the extra cost in service because you're inconvenienced to switch phone/service because they don't have a rel placement or any other way to resolve your issue.

For New Years (31st) I flipped my lid, lost my cool, but apologized to the guy from the start, told him I am sorry he's gotta hear it from me that way, but he is representative a company with which I am upset at for their service.

He says, "look I understand your frustration and I am not taking is personally." That he is trying his best to resolve the issue, but they have limits on how far or what they can do.. Especially when something is just not in stock.

That said, while typing this, I gave my local store manager my daily call to check. After 3 weeks calling everyday (not pestering they asked me to make sure to call each day early morning, because it's hit or miss) the manager says to me..."looks like we got lucky"... WOOT! Wednesday afternoon I pick it up.

Dry humping it when I get it comes to mind.... lol \\:D/

P.S. for being too much of a pest, I lost my unltd shared n&w at 5pm perk and they couldn't put it back, since it doesn't exists (according to them) anymore. For switching from Everything 450 to Everything Plus 500.. But got 6pm nights + $5 reoccurring credit..:-?

My dealings have been only with Corporate stores. It's hit or miss, they can't offer you a replacement for something that their system doesn't show as being an offer, regardless of which type of store you go it..

Sprint has TP2's back in stock. I called last night and got a replacement for my TP that's been overheating and freezing thru my $7 plan.

who did you call? I just got off the phone with *2 and the Order Status number, both of them basically said to f**k off when asked if they have the Touch Pro 2. I even explained that an authorized service center said I can make the exchange.

they told me the ONLY phone it can be replaced with is a Touch pro. Meanwhile, the smaller authorized repair center listed off like 5 phones....

I called customer care and spoke with advanced tech. I explained all of the issues my phone was having and that i have been into the service center about 3-4 times. The young lady on the phone said she would switch it out for a new (refurb) unit, when she came back on the line she said we don't have any TP and I will have to swap for a different unit. I started think please not a palm (LOL). then she said i could get a TP2 and I said yes, i'll take it. I never asked for a TP2 or demanded one.

that's my story.

I called Advanced Tech and they directed me to a repair store. There isn't anything they can do over the phone.
