Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
I noticed that the TP is not on the website anymore. Does that mean they aren't dishing out refurbs anymore?

How long does the touchpro have to be active on your account for you to be able to receive a touchpro2? I have the $7 TEP plan.

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
Is it normal for Sprint to only carry a phone for a year? I mean, I don't know that the fact Sprint quit selling it is a big deal. They don't offer a lot of phones they used to sell anymore; for instance, the Mogul. But from what I understand, they still somehow find refurbs to send to folks who need them. Or am I wrong, and did they move Mogul people to the TP?

The only thing I can think of as to why the sudden drop of the TP1 is Sprint's excuse that the Tp1's were full of problems- hence the memo to replace with TP2 (sometimes). |

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
sprint is still replacing the moguls with moguls and the funny thing is that they still have some 6700 laying around. The best shot is to get it replaced through asurion, for example, sprint is still replacing the htc touch with a touch phone and asurion is replacing them with the diamond

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!
just got off the phone with sprint. this is my 5th touch pro, & the digitizer part of the screen is lifting off the phone (probably because of heat) and now the touch screen works when it wants to which is never.
they tried pushing me off to insurance, said nooooo... this phone is only4 months old. escalated to someone else... who escalated to someone else... who.. yep.. escalated me again to someone who i didnt talk to, but is supposed to call me back. yeah right. who wants to make a wager on if i get a call or not. EDIT: ok never got a call. called back, got hung up on twice transferred 3 more times before i finally landed at account services. Replacement Phone Information: Model Name: UTStarcom Touch Pro called back and told them to cancel the order. going to store tomorrow. If they give me any BS me and sprint are going to part ways. I wager, no call back, based on my 7 weeks of phone calls, NO calls back.

UPDATE: I went to another ASC. Really nice gal there looked at the phone for me. I told her it wasn't marking my texts as read properly. She took it back and came back a few minutes later agreeing it was screwed up, and that she thought a hard reset would fix it. I knew the problem was in Sprint's new ROM, but just played along. Of course, it didn't fix it, so she offered to replace the phone. She said there was a list of phones I could swap it for, INCLUDING THE TP2, but that it was OOS and had been for a while, and she didn't know when or if it would ever be back in stock for the service centers. So I looked at all the other phones and asked her about them, just playing along, but as we all know, they're huge downgrades, so I made that clear to her, and I accepted her to order me another TP. I know it will ALSO have the same text problem (if it doesn't have OTHER problems), so at that point, I am going to press her for a TP2 or something that isn't a downgrade. I know the stores can override normal procedure and order a new one, or give me one from the store's stock, because other people have said it's happened. I am actually kinda miffed at this text problem, it's really annoying. Normally I'd just flash a cooked ROM on there, but I'd have to turn right around and put the stock one on there when I inevitably have to return the phone again. I am also wondering: What if I bought a brand new TP2, and a week later, it had some terminal defect that required Sprint to replace it. What would they do if they're out of stock? Offer the same crappy phones or a TP, or else you're out of luck? Surely there's some procedure in place for giving the customer a NIB phone that isn't just the store eating the loss.
