Responsiveness and Aesthetically great user interface and controls. Big draw for me. I find it annoying with the delay in opening files, programs, delay in simple tasks (sending mms / sms), and the fact that there is a noticeable delay in the phone ringer...... no matter which ROM i use.

Stability is also a great thing.

Don't get me wrong, The flexibility of Windows mobile is great, but there is something to be said about developing a Mobile Phone OS for limited sets of hardware, where the OS can be optimized for that hardware. Windows Mobile has to acommodate all types of hardware, and it makes it harder. Windows 7 is supposed to fix some of those things, it's supposed to impose certain hardware standards on hardware manufacturers, and even cull some of the extraneous hardware manufacturers..... but that is far off, and I am already getting tired of WM6.XXXXX

Re: Losing Faith in Windows Mobile 6.xx

I was just glad bradyonly finally figured out a way to eliminate the lag in texting. It isn't the most ideal solution, but easily the best one for my (and most other peoples') needs. That was one of my biggest issues with Windows Mobile devices. Hopefully one of these days the processing power, memory, etc. will basically take care of little things like that.

Re: Losing Faith in Windows Mobile 6.xx

Im in the same boat as the OP. My love for wm goes as far back as the 6600 (w/camera), 6700, Vogue and now, the Touch Pro (Mighty ROM6). I plan on skipping the Touch Pro2 until a wm7 device.

I know Snapdragon and Tegra (outperforms snapdragon) look amazing, to me wm7 got me alittle worried. From the pictures I've seen, it looks like a glorified wm6.xx. Same old taskbar and bottombar w/a new twist. I'm wishing that they revamp wm7 like they did w/the Zune HD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_WPdg6zUeE The Zune HD OS is awesome (I ever use that word).

For meantime, I'm out of contract w/Sprint. I plan on buying the HTC Hero when it comes to Sprint or even get a Palm Pre on ebay to hold me over. Lets hope wm7 can bring the most of us back to windows mobile.

Re: Losing Faith in Windows Mobile 6.xx

fantasy can become reality
but windows 6.xx has become an eyesore for many reasons sadly. It is clunky and very unrefined in comparison to like iphone os or google android. 6.5 does a lot to improve things but truth of it all is that we are anticipating 7 and none of our devices can go to 7...which is a shame

Re: Losing Faith in Windows Mobile 6.xx

Re: Losing Faith in Windows Mobile 6.xx

I have a Touch Pro and a Palm Pre. Hate to say this, but MS needs to take some lessons from the Palm WebOS programmers. Better battery life, faster, more integrated OS. I use both, but honestly I use the Pre more lately. From what I've seen of Win Mo 6.5, nothing much was "really" changed, just the interface tweaked a bit. On the other hand, I don't ever want an Iphone. Just not interested in an appstore full of fart apps and junk.

If anyone hasn't looked at the link for the zune hd YOU NEED TO ASAP. Do you see how fast that UI is and how nice the animation is. For all of you that claim you are getting tired of windows mobile well see you later. They always save the best for last. Microsoft has been leading the way in functionality they just haven't got the eye candy. These other companies have the eye candy but lack the functionality. We see with the zune hd that microsoft has invested time in the eye candy and 6.5 is a preview of that. I gurantee windows mobile 7 is going to blow any and everything out of the water. They have been playing this game waaaaayyyyy too long and they are pretty damn good at it. Windows is the way to go baby i might even get a zune hd that thing is soooooo nice

Re: Losing Faith in Windows Mobile 6.xx

I am pretty sure that nVidia just released today that the Zune HD utilizes the Tegra platform....

http://www.nvidia.com/object/io_1250488651953.html

Does this mean Microsoft Phone Partners could also be first in line for the Tegra Processors? Either way, I will be waiting for Tegra!
