Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I activated a Sprint TP on Verizon back in January. Although I am not having any problems, I am wondering what everyone's opinion is about calling Verizon to have it added to the DMD. Should I give it a try, or just leave it alone in the hopes that Verizon will not eventually find it and remove it? I am also a little worried about touching my TP at this point as I don't want anything to cause it to stop working on Verizon's network. I have already loaded a couple of ROMs since they closed the hole, but I have just not wanted to take any chances. Thanks for your time!

If it ain't broke...

I'm in the same boat and I'd only try that if I knew for a fact and was 100% certain it would get added to the DMD. I'll try getting it added if and when it no longer works on their network, but otherwise I'm leaving well enough alone.

That is pretty much what I have lived by, but not knowing what Verizon is going to do about our "Unknown" devices is what I am worried about. Guess I shouldn't worry about it until I need too. Thanks!

To my understanding, you are safe unless you hard reset using "clear storage". there are a few members here (jmorton, dehx) that have been flashing and not de-activating.

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I have also been lurking this thread and I have read every post. I currently have a outdated XV6800 that I don't want anymore. I'm interested in the TP. From what I gather, as long as I tell VZW that it's from Alltel and NOT Sprint, I can get it added to the DMD. Am I right?

Also would I have to complete the "instructions.txt" before or after I call VZW?

I would focus on getting VZW to add it to their DMD first. No sense in f'n with the phone until you know for sure its going to be approved.

I got to tier 3 tech support yesterday, and I kept giving them the MEID and they said that there was nothing that they can do on their end. Is there anything else I need to do?

LOL I giggle whenever I hear "tier 3" for VZW tech support. Anyways, the only thing you can do is keep trying/calling. Apparently, only a few reps know one of the procedures for getting a phone added to the DMD and of those few even fewer seem to know/use the one that works. Keep trying...

What exactly is the proper procedure and method? Just curious should the issue come up.
