By the way, I talked to a VZ tech last week (great guy)

He knew of the problem, said it was a VZ network problem & he doubted there would ever be a solution.

First time this ever happened for me BUT I just received an EMS message from another VZW subscriber with an LG Voyager. The message showed up with 1/2 at the begging on the message and 2/2 on the second part. I also then received a third message that said "Preceeding msg modified, Media objects were removed".

Exact same thing for me! SWEET. I am using a Sprint TP on verizon with the leaked VZN ROM. AWESOME. I send it from my wifes phone and she got a new message saying "delivered as plain text. Destination does not support EMS"

I'll take it.... nice work

FYI: I just ran it up to 430 (4 messages) characters and I got 4 messages. Seems to work for me. in the threaded sms under the senders name it says: "1/4" then "2/4" on the next etc...

Must just work for Sprint users then..I tried it on Verizon.

well this is weird...
i sent my wife over 160 she got it

she sent me over 160...i got all 5 messages then followed bt the error...

This is what happens every time I get a long SMS from a phone like an enV on VZ service (& this mod didn't change that at all)

If the message comes from a PPC on VZ it comes through as multi-part just fine.
