Re: Sprint Throttling evdo on touch pro

ok, just checked. M.IP Customer Profile1 Primary HA Address is 255.255.255.255
and secondary is 68.28.49.76

so doesn't look like its those thats causing my TP to never exceed 1200kbps in a area where i've always gotten 1600-2200kbps with my mogul. consistently.

Wow HA editing...

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r194...a-for-EVDO-HAs

Not sure how that will help you on the hop from the tower to the phone, seems more like that will help with routing in sprints network.

Where in the bay area? In San Jose I never broke 1.2K with the mogul. The TP seems a hair faster. A thin hair, for sure...

Did you update your HA, as suggested, or is that stock?

Maybe because I'm in a good coverage area.

I'm in the san mateo area. both mogul and TP, i've never had to mess with HA. both stock roms.

just trying to compare what others are seeing that have own both mogul and TP and what their throughput is. just weird to me that mine sees a hit of that much bandwidth in a good evdo signal area.

Re: Sprint Throttling evdo on touch pro

Are you all testing these speeds with a Mogul and TP side by side within moments of each other and averaging the result of at least a few tests?

As there are too many factors at play otherwise... The tower(s) in your area could just be overloaded or could have more traffic to deal with now than they did in the past (more people getting TPs :P). Without side by side comparisons we can't really confirm anything is at fault in the phone itself...

Especially with one poster claiming to have gotten some pretty smooth speeds on his TP in NYC.

As stated before, i had the mogul for a year. bought a TP, sold the mogul did speed tests all the time on both usually at night or really early mornings. same findings.

This is exactly what happens to my phone. Say I am driving and streaming data, and I started in an EVDO area, then it goes to 1x and I get back into EVDO the phone stays streaming in 1x mode its really annoying. Until I stop the data connection and make it reconnect it only then goes back to EVDO.

MY Mougle Never had this problem and seemed to have higher throughput on the phone as well.

Is there a better Radio we can flash onto the phoen besides the stock sprint one?
