Right. If Windows Mobile were thinner in terms of memory footprint and battery life I'd have no qualms about running with a Windows Mobile phone. But I honestly have been amazed since going back to the Centro. With my Touch Pro I was having to charge it at work every day. 4 times in New York I either had to charge it while out and about in the city or I lost all the juice by the end of the day. So far with the Centro it's gone 2 days between charges. So far, so good.

But yeah, it can't do many of the things Windows Mobile can. And of course the screen looks fugly. It works, though. So I'm good. I wasn't trying to pee in anyone's cornflakes. I just kind of finally came to grips with the fact that the TP would never work for me and I wanted to truly thank those who had helped me at least give it a fair shake. I tried everything short of a custom ROM. Eventually my 30 days was getting close and I had to decide if it was going to work out long term or not.

FWIW I find the postings about the pink phones, etc. funny. I can take it. I know a cell phone doesn't determine your manhood.

Problem is that when I switched from my original Centro to the Touch Pro to the G1 to the Touch Pro a lot of money got trapped on cards. With returns, selling the G1, etc. that money has all found its way home and in the net all that happened is I renewed my contract to get the same phone I had before.

But by the time I got back to getting the Centro again after trying out the Touch Pro twice and the G1 I had so many returns, etc. unwinding, plus we were spending money on our trip to NY that I was forced to put the final phone on our Best Buy card. That limited my options. Otherwise I would have considered the Treo 755p.

There we go. Fixed. On the good news side, though, SPB allowed me to return SPB Mobile Shell, which they really didn't have to do. I'll have to see if they have anything for Palm or keep them in mind if WinMo gets to a point where I feel I want to give it a go again. They have awesome customer service.

Thread title should be changed as it is rather insulting ...
He didnt even try a custom rom/radio for solution.

Re: Finally solved my problems with lag, weak battery life

I knew this was not the phone he needed, and told him as such as forceful as I could...

Glad he finally realized it was not for him, and has found some peace in his cell phone life. Now I hope he finds a Palm forum to hang out in!
