Re: replacement touch pro has yellowish screen?
I just ordered a replacement via self exchange, will see If I'll get a better one with no raised home key, no creaking cover and loose keyboard, If they send me a refurbished one Im definitely sending it back, the phone is only one month old.

Re: replacement touch pro has yellowish screen?
I didn't think mine looked yellow. Got it yesterday. Dunno.

Re: replacement touch pro has yellowish screen?
Mine is bright snow white, build date 12/26/08. The screen is an amazing step up from the Mogul. My roommate even commented on it.

Re: replacement touch pro has yellowish screen?
I guess I'm rather lucky, the day before Christmas one of my friends grabbed my touch pro out of my hand to check the time and it went flying up and hit the icy concrete face down. I had intended later that week to bring it back to Sprint due to almost nightly freezing and the fact it felt like it was falling apart, and well to be honest I didn't really install anything on it, it was all stock. After that though the chrome was all banged up but the screen had a protector so it was fine, and the keys had a single scratch which wasn't bad but I realized it would just be easier to go through Asurion. I did and about a month later they sent me a completely new Touch Pro with a build date of 12.16.08. My original was 08.10.08. I have to say, the extra four months has provided a product that feels less prototypish. I know it sounds odd considering its the same type of phone, but the battery has been lasting longer, and when I hold it up to my ear the keyboard isn't "wiggling". I also wanted to report that the screen is as white as the original, with no trace of yellow.

Quote:
Just finished activating. The phone seems a lot tighter than my first phone. No creaking, less space between the two parts of the phone. the volume buttons are tighter as is the power button. The screen is slightly more yellow, but I could really only tell putting the phones next to eachother. Nothing drastic and most people probably wouldn't even notice the slightly yellow tint. Oh, and the build date is 1/11/09. My previous phone had an October build date. |

Re: replacement touch pro has yellowish screen?
I hate being nitpicky, but I got a replacement Pro today and it has the same dingy yellowish screen the OP described. It's obviously yellow, even when not side by side with my original one. I'm going to keep getting it replaced until I get another one with a pure white screen. Minor defects I can handle, but I look at the screen every time I use the damn thing, so I expect that to be consistent from unit to unit.
