replacement touch pro has yellowish screen?

got my replcement today also. a frigging refurb! call *2 like i told so many to do and got stone-walled. i told them i want to cancel because the refurb i got is just a phone and battery cover, not even a screen protector(so when this POS breaks, they"ll try to charge $50 saying the screen is scratched up). they are supposed to call back in the morning. i'll keep y'all posted. i can't deal with this yellow screen.

That's odd...I called yesterday morning and was shipped a brand new one that I received today. They rep told me that there wasn't an option for refurb so I was getting a new one. I personally don't care if it's a new one or a refurb as long as it has a good screen.

I think it's only some. The replacement I got today has the same build date as my original, which was 11/11/08.

all i know is my original has a build date 10-10-08. this one is 10-21-08. i bought my tp brand new and it burns me that people with broken 6800s get brand new tps and i get a refurb. no matter though because i already told the rep that anything other than new and i take my business elsewhere.

lol..maybe Sprint knew you were a Steelers fan, hence the yellow screen. Not sure what the excuse is for mine though.

lol. i needed that. i've been waiting 2 weeks for a replacement. 1st they canceled the order by mistake and after waiting a week and calling them again they told me it was on backorder. then all of a sudden today i get a email saying it's on the way and i get this POS. the funny thing is my broken pros' screen is whiter than the refurb!

Just wanted to let you all know that the Touch Pro's you are receiving with a slightly yellower screen are normal. I don't know about units made in 2008. But the new batches in 2009 are using a different LCD screen manufacturer, and they do have a slightly different color temp.

I also had my 11/22/08 TP replaced with a new TP last week, also noticed a slightly yellower screen, but once I stopped looking at the two next to each other, I really stopped noticing it.

This is normal and Sprint won't replace them. Even if they did, the new batches all have a yellow"er" screen than the original bluish screens on the 08 models. My sources are that its a new manufacturer and the screen quality is exactly the same.

Go ahead and try to get it replaced if you really hate it, but your new TP will most likely be the same. I don't know if HTC is using multiple manufacturers, but play your luck if you want.


My first TP had a yellow lower right corner, someone else had that too in this thread, that IS abnormal and should be replaced.

to be honest with you frost, the screen color isn't my big issue. i just have a phone and battery cover period. nothing else. not acceptable in my book.

Nah, I wasn't speaking to you directly, I just wanted to address the yellow screen issue. I had that bit of information from some sources, and I just wanted to pass it along.
