6/8/09 FIRMWARE UPDATE: Verizon GPS Unlocked

Any chance you have it where it will unlock the Touch Diamond GPS?

Verizon says, as of yesterday, about the Diamond XV6950

"We are unable to state if or when additional GPS functionality will be enabled on the HTC Touch Diamond XV6950. . . We are unable to disclose any unconfirmed information because it would be subject to change and could raise expectations that may not be met."

Can someone tell me how to get it done myself or send me a link. I've searched this forum for days, and being new, cannot make heads or tails of it all. Everyone seems ready to tell us to go to the devil, once we mention verizon.

I was unaware when I elicited this reply that Verizon Diamond was different from everyone else's does this post apply to it, XV6950, as well?

Ok. Sorry if I'm looking stupid here. I think I've figured it out. Since your post no 1 dealt with a Verizon Touch Pro, I figure you meant for me to use the ppst2.01.cab on my XV6950 . . . so here I go. . . . Thanks.

To all of you Verizon Diamond XV6950 users . . . Just do it. It works perfectly. My verizon Diamond GPS is unlocked and working with google maps.

If I had time to do it and knew how, I'd copy this post to the basic Diamond thread. Perhaps a site administrator will find it and do so. Why in the world could not Verizon have done this for us.

Thanks for the donation and sorry I didnt respond sooner. Been awhile since I seen one of those so thanks once again.

I went ahead and put this in the Diamond forum since you are the 5th confirmed case that these files work on the VZW Diamond aswell. Thanks for being one of those to confirm that for the communities sake.... most appreciated...

I assume this doesn't last past a hard reset? I ran the update and it partially hosed the ROM I was running (I'm sure it is a fluke) and just wanted to make sure after I flash if I needed the update again. Thanks!
