6/8/09 FIRMWARE UPDATE: Verizon GPS Unlocked

Hi lllboredlll, I had your gps fix working on my Verizon Diamond. Unfortunately my Diamond crashed after the SD card went bad and I think its a good time to do a hard reset. After I hard reset do I need to reapply your fix or is it a one shot deal? Please let me know asap so i can get my phone back up and running. Thank you for all the help.

so I had to replace my touch pro after I destroyed the first one. I com back to this link and I see there is a different file since verizon unlocked the phones but there isn't a link to download in the message. I try to do a search on ppcgeeks and it tells me there is a security token issue. Help!

Just got a Touch Pro. Updated radio ROM and running MightyROM. The GPS does not appear to be working. Unable to see any red GPS signals when using GPS Viewer.

I've been able to make the GPS work on my XV6800 and XV6900. I thought the Touch Pro was going to be automatic, but it simply isn't working. Anyone else having this issue?

Now have GPS after using this: PPST2.01.cab

Changes I've made to my 6mo old Verizon touch pro to try and get GPS to work:

1. cmonex HSPL security unlocked
2. flashed Mightyrom6
3. installed PPST2.01.CAB (annoyingly changes my theme to this aqua blue color)
4. ran PPST.exe in \Windows (it restarted my phone)
5. dialed *228 option 1 (it hung up on me and restarted my phone)
6. verified GPS settings in system External GPS to be program port COM4 and hardware port (None) baud rate 4800

GPS won't work in:
1. Google Maps and select Use GPS in the menu (finds no satellites)
2. QuickGPS download (connection fails)
3. HTC_GPS_Tool_1[1].2.2.11vga.cab chip: Q 7500, mode: Cold Start, baud: 4800 (finds no satellites)

Please help, GPS will come in handy on my upcoming vacation.

This may or may not help but I also had trouble using GPS, only in Bing though not google maps. So when Verizon released the unlocked GPS I thought let's go back to square one. I re-flashed the stock ROM, did the newly released Verizon ROM, and then went back to MightyROM 6.5. They all work now, but I can't honestly say what fixed it.

You can't use the telus servers with QPST and have it work?

Go to phone/options/services/location turn locastion on!

yes you need to re-install the fix after you hard reset
