Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I'm getting a NIB TP through my local Sprint store. I called Advanced Technical Support this morning and they totally took care of me. I had my account noted so I can check out local Sprint stores (since I have ALOT in my area) to see if they have any NIB TP's to spare for my order. My main spot will have one for me on Friday morning but I'm gonna check out a couple other spots tomorrow and see if I can walk out with one. I'm hoping whatever I get is a newer build date. My last one was 2/22 and it was nearly perfect, with the screen blob (starting out pea-sized now nearly the entire screen) being the only problem. I've had this screen-blobbed device for 3 weeks and it was NIB when I received it.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

Does the oily rainbow screen get progressively worse so it is no longer usable or does the blob stay in one area?

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

Scheel, it does get progressively worse. It went from being the size of a pea to over a third of the screen in less than 3 weeks. I didn't notice any screen issues as far as lack of sensitivity, power/backlight and color. I haven't yet read about an issue with screens going out but, to me, it was unacceptable.

For me, no real change in the 4 months I've had the phone.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

so is this a defect that will keep re-occurring even if the phone is replaced? I am on my second one and have a big oily spot in the middle of the screen and now debating if I should go through the same trouble of exchanging it again (if I can). I am past my 30 days. What would be my options? Any help will be much appreciated!

At this point asurion is your best option. I have the Blob, but it not a problem for me, but you might wanna act now before it goes to $100 to get replaced.

I guess I am stuck with it then since I have no TEP? Is it just me or does HTC have some major quality problems? I know there will be a Touch pro 2 latter this year, but I will be very hesitant to buy another HTC device no matter what the specs are.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I chatted with Sprint for 3 hours on Friday online. Finally after 3 logs I was sent to someone who replaced my device with out having to use the asurion claim again. You only get 3 per year. Didn't wanna use my last one for a defective phone. Explained my concerns, linked to this posting, and got the new phone being delievered. Hope it doesn't happen again.
