Angry Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I know I read this around here that says is the original case it comes with the phone which is really cheap. The problem is that when you place you phone on the case facing the screen towards your body thi will create presure agains the screen with the belt clip. If you take the case and bend it pushing the corners in then it will create a square in the middle which it looks like the square of oil slick you will create on the scree of your phone. I guess the best bet is to get a different cover where the whole back is hard and not flexible. I hope this helps. Remember to thank if this is helpful.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

sounds logically but the exact opposite is happening to screen it isnt being pushed on too hard like i said in my other post the layers of plastic are being seperated....the way the plastic is designed it is sealed ****...the chemical they use to seal these layers shut creates a thin (almost un-mueassurable) layer of gas in between each layer of plastic....when they are pulled apart the gas is visible bc it is all forced to the place in between the layers with the least preassure...that is also why if you push on the spot were the "smudge" appears it disapears or spreads...by putting pressure in that spot it pushes the layers back together...

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

This "newton ring" has appeared on my TP screen within the past few weeks as well. Build date is 1/11/2009. This is clearly a defect and should not be classified as user damage as HTC has been getting away with.

Soon as Sprint releases something better, I'm making them upgrade me. TP has been a major disappointment here.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

did you even think what you just said through?!

htc screws up so you make sprint pay for it that makes a whole lot of sense!

hey guys im going make sony give me a brand new tv bc my satelite stops working sometimes.

and sprint will have no problem fixing this or replacing this phone with the same model...and it isnt a defect more like a design flaw

Yes, I did think about it. I'm also thinking about the extra money I'm laying down for insurance through them on not 1, but 2 TPs and the overall experience I've had with this device, which has been quite a let down. I would graciously accept a new replacement if I knew it wasn't going to just happen again in a couple months. As it is, I'm WAITING for something else since they don't have any other phones in their lineup that interests me instead of swapping out multiple times.

Do you think about what you blurb out before attacking others for expressing themselves?????

That was the first thing I thought when I saw the anomoly on mine less than 24 hours into owning it. I had it in the case when I went clubbing that night and when I went for a run with my dog the next morning. I thought it was from the hard plastic belt clip nub on the inside of the case 'cuz I ALWAYS put my phone in the holster face-in and it was in the exact spot where the plastic portruded on the inside.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I have had this on mine for a couple of weeks now, I had it only 2 weeks before the rainbow appeared. Heck I think I remember when it happened! I guess on my next day off Ill head on into the repair center and see what they can do for me.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I have the alltel touch pro and got this same problem. I'll be heading to the store next week to get a new one (hopefully). Manufacture date 4 nov 08. I've had the same one since it came out for alltel in late november. I've had no problems at all till this "blob" appeared last week. I always carry it in my front pocket but didn't have this blob till i had to reach over a desk and my body was pressing against it for a couple seconds while it was in my front pocket. I immediately thought "oh crap...my phone" and I pulled it out of my pocket and there it was. Not sure if it was already there or if I had just caused it. Just wanted to pass on my blob story. Hope everyone, including myself, gets a free warranty replacement.

*UPDATE* - I went to the alltel store and they quickly realized it was a warranty issue and they had a warranty replacement at my house in a couple days.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I think I've kissed my chances of getting a replacement goodbye. My TP took a naaaaasty spill down a flight of metal stairs heading down to the beach a couple days ago. Surprisingly, the only damage was on the top part of the chrome on the lip that's pressing against the battery cover and a couple of practically unnoticable dings on the edges of the chrome on the sides. I think I'll still give it a try, if anything at least get a new screen. Then again, the blob doesn't bother me THAT much...
