Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle
MAAAN! I thought I was the only victim lol... Went to sprint to claim this damn smudge and they told me they couldn't exchange it because it was from regular use and that not until the phone started showing "touch-failure", like if the phone would freeze or anything like that. I did notice at times the phone will momentarily freeze for like 10 -15 secs, and told them that it would do that. Only thing they told me was to take it back when the problem was present... Called asurion, and they told me I was out of the 30 day warranty they offer. If I want a new one, I need to pay $50. Aint this about a B*ITCH... I'm goin back to sprint tomorrow, lettin them know other ppl have been getting replacements for this type of problem.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle
My tp has the rainbow circle. But, when I called technical support they tried to offer me a refurbished one, I think they should offer everyone a BNIB.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle
I don't believe that it is a problem with the screen...at least not with mine. Like I said, with my first Pro, once the protector was removed, the rainbow smudge went away. With my second Pro, I've had it now for about two months, and the rainbow smudge is back. It certainly seems to be something with the screen protector.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle
An update I picked up my Brand New In The Box Touch Pro from my Sprint store today. No hassles what so ever!

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle
This is not an with any screen protectors. This is a known issue with the TP. It is a manufactures defect, the only problem is if you have had your phone for a while and wait to take it in normal/heavy finger use can also cause the same issue. Therefore if you get a phone that has this problem (normally as soon as you take it out of the box) you need to take it in. If you take it in right away and show them that you haven't had the phone long then it is "supposed" to be a free swap out. If they do not want to do a exchange with the phone simply ask for the store manager and try explaining that it came like that. If you are still having no luck call in to sprint and talk to them about it.
This is kind of like the white spot on the mogul. Some said that it eventually caused the screen to stop working. Others had said the white spot grew and took over the screen. Bottom line if you really want the phone replaced because of the rainbow on your screen don't give up. Even when they tell you no or that it will cost you always get names of who you talked to and document it. You'd be surprised some service reps will have a change of heart once they see your documenting everything. Also some reps don't give a $h!T and will give you a fake name. If enough people have the same issue it can lead to bigger problems for the company if taken action on.... Good luck |
