A grand total of 21 days....kinda disappointing actually. I am hoping this isn't gonna turn into a widespread problem.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

alright, I havent had a chance to read through all of these pages; but i did notice one guy saying his rainbow circles under the screen would only show under florescent lights

I am the same issue, at home and in the car my TP screen looks great.. however while at school, work (office max), or a store like best buy or meijer my phone has the circles in the screen.

I hope they show at the sprint store.. or it will be very hard to prove it. I think I may print off a few of these pages to show its a legitimate problem...

what do you guys think I should do?

The Sprint store will have flourescent lighting somewhere, if not in the main lobby. Most of them have switched to 12-volt canister lighting to look more artistic or whatnot, but I think they still have them in the tech areas and others.

Take some pictures of your phone, in the worst-case-scenario... You should be able to get a replacement, no problem. Don't expect one right then and there, as they have the right to ship you a refurb.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

Ive seen this thread before and always wondered what people meant by this "rainbow circle thing", lol. and today I was at the doctors offices and noticed this problem on my phone which I just recieved a few weeks ago as a replacement for another tp that I had other problems with. After reading this thread I thought maybe it was the florescent lights at the office but Im noticing the same problem here at home.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

i just got a new xv6800 and i am scared that the rainbow circle is caused by the screen protector through static or something...hopefully it's only a problem on the refurbished phones

No, its not with the screen protector. I have the same problem and I don't use a screen protector. But my wife does use a screen protector and the circle has not appeared on her phone yet. I told her it is just a matter of time.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

People please remember that using the word "recall" is a bit of a bad word to any manufacturer.
What is going on here is a published bulletin about an ongoing customer satisfaction issue, not anything having to do with the phone catching fire, shorting out giving of excessive heat and blowing up, or something of the sort.

A recall issued by a company would result an instant letter issued by the company to most likely stop using the product because of a safety reason, this is a satisfaction issue, nothing more.

Yes I worked for General Motors for a good while so I'm just a little familiar with recalls.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

my seidio screen protector literally magnified the rainbow spot. without it it's about pinpoint and barely noticeable. but when i put the protector on it amplified to about 1x3cm rectangle in the middle of the screen.

Re: UPDATE:Rainbow looking circle

I'm starting to notice the rainbow in bright sun. It's starting to become an issue rather than just a small annoyance.
