Count me in as one who had the phone open out from the velco case and slid across my concrete drive way... *sigh* It slid a long time too and the corners are now all roughed up. At least the screen didn't get damaged.

I was about to sue VZW then I remembered that I had another to arrive the very next day via fed ex (yeah, I always call 800 support then march into a store, tehn keep the best of the two on a replacement). Boxed the one up I just freshly borke and kept the refurb.... Which had a bad backlight.... So I sent that back too and got a vouge... Then I sent that.... anyways... The point of the story is... S!@#t happens. Its not worthign suing over, or even wasting a post IMHO. I have no sympathy for you op. Been there done that, replaced it and did it again. And again... And again.... I have learned my lesson about cases. I just use my left pocket. Dont ever put anyting in it. Have a routine... Keys and change in left pcoket. Wallet in back pocket. Phone in right pocket. ALWAYS. Well could be a few factors. I have some velcro that's just super strong. They are working fine after a few years.. The other is that I have three pets and while there are some pet hair in the velcro I didn't think it would be enough to lessen the effect of it. Then again, I have some pet hair in other things with velcro and the strength of it is still good..
In the end, all I know is, I had it closed and when I was I took a little hop off my front step and then next thing I see is the phone fly up and out of my holster, sliding across the driveway with me getting a sad look on my face as I watch it roll around with the stylus and battery flying out. I'm still laughing........!!! I have had vz service since dumping Sprint (best move I ever made), but I really hate the way vz does business. I don't understand what they gain by gimping out a nice phone (do they buy them that way for 1/2 price??). It also irritates me that they have the highest rates of any company & STILL want an extra $10 a month for GPS service on top of that.... I stay with vz because I want a service that works correctly 99% of the time & vz gives me that, but when it was time to buy a TP I bought a Sprint TP off ebay & converted it to vz service for all the reasons you stated........ ~John

Oh no, heh I wasn't taking it all serious or anything.,
 After it slid I was like.. eh I have insurance if i want to replace it. A few years ago I would've been upset but now maybe because I'm older I'm like eh, it was bound to happen. My wife says this is why we can't have nice things and she knows every phone I have gets damaged one time or another. Except for my Mogul . I put that in a full body Invishield and that thing didn't have a scratch on it. Yeah I saw the way VZW was. When I was at CES the Microsoft booth had a lot of their WinMo phones next to each other. The Touch Pro's from all carriers were lined up next to a Touch HD. I looked at the VZW one and I was disappointed for VZW folks in terms of memory. Quote:
