Re: Want MORE RAM? Disable HTC Dialer Skin
Excellent find, i didnt realize how much memory the f'n dialer was taking...10MB is kinda crazy.

This one works pretty good... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437296
Not sure how much ram it uses but it probably isn't 10mb. If anyone has any interesting vga dialers post 'em up. |

Re: Want MORE RAM? Disable HTC Dialer Skin
man i missed the stock dialer. i felt the sprint htc dialer had weird bugs like when center button would dial a number vs hitting talk would sometime show no contact found and not dial. classic WM dialer works and incoming announcing with picture still works.

Re: Want MORE RAM? Disable HTC Dialer Skin
On second thought, I decided against this hack.
It also affects the incoming call screen. Much harder to answer a call with the screen that comes up with the HTC dialer. |

Re: Want MORE RAM? Disable HTC Dialer Skin
not to mention, i think it takes away the "flip phone upside down to mute ringer" (there has got to be a shorter name for this) feature.

Re: Want MORE RAM? Disable HTC Dialer Skin
I'll add a comment on incoming ring speed. (& it is NOT just for vz users). I have a sprint TP ported over to work with my verizon account.
It was driving me nuts to watch the TouchPro light up while sitting in a cradle on my desk & not ring for another three/four rings. If I wasn't looking at it, I would miss 1/2 my calls as they would go to voice mail before I even realized it was ringing. I had already set my slot cycle index to 1 so I knew that wasn't the problem. I read in a post somewhere that the Diamond dialer skin was causing this & disabled it. I hate the stock Windows default dialer, but using that my phone rings almost instantly. ~John |
