Re: Video out cable
I think I've found the best solution!
That 3.5 mm adapter I bought for $4 on EBAY (you can find it for $3) - it can be used to make this cable! THat way you don't waste the adapter that came with your touch pro! I just used it to make a new TV Out cable and it worked great using that $1 video cable! As soon as you've broken pin #4 on that adapter, you're done! You just have to connect the camcorder cable and you're all set to watch video on your TV. Just to be clear, this is the adapter I used: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=310091888867 |

Re: Video out cable
I used one of the smallest flathead screwdrivers I have from my precision set (you know, with the sizes for SMALL screws). There is a bit of a little gap right above the USB port (and perhaps a bit in the right upper corner) at the end of the adapter. Start with that. Once it's started, you should have no problem pulling the rest of it off with your fingers.

But in all likelihood, according to the chart you provided, it has the same pinouts as the Zen Vision series cables, since it seems to work fine. But I know the packaging specifically said "For iPod." Last edited by mtnmedic; 11-26-2008 at 10:13 PM. |

Re: Video out cable
Hmmm, I'm kind of stumped as to why it's not working. I guess I was lucky that my one dollar purchase worked. Have you tried swapping the yellow tv port with the red and white cables?

Re: Video out cable
There are various cable pinouts available, but I used the aftermarket iPod one for mine with no problem. For what it's worth, I selected NTSC and am plugged into the front AV inputs on my Vizio LCD TV.
I just did a test, with some unexpected results. I tried it again, to make sure I wasn't crazy. Selected NTSC, and it worked again. So I unplugged, replugged and selected PAL. I thought it might look messed up, or the TV would just give "No Signal". To my utter amazement, not only did the TV sync up just fine, the picture looks BETTER than with NTSC! |

Re: Video out cable
Definitely - if it's a small switch. There's actually a lot of extra plastic in there that could be removed to make room right next to where the wires connect to the PCB. There's a kind of plastic housing inside the black housing you can see which takes up a lot of room.

After I read this I connected and clicked pal, sho nuff it looks way better. I am using a philips usa lcd. I am also quite content with the picture quality, looks brilliant. I am NOT using an ipod labeled cable. My cable was from a camcorder, camera, or slingbox not sure exactly. |
