A 30 second froogle search would have revealed the following to purchase one online: http://www.installergadget.com/servl...19-6-FT/Detail Here's the links to the ebay buyitnow 2.5mm and 3.5mm adapters I've been using with my Touch Pro: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=370110680120 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260314690611 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=310091888867 The 2.5 mm adapter's what I used to make my first video cable. The others I have for headset use at work or in the car when I don't want to use bluetooth. Last edited by PolloLoco; 11-26-2008 at 08:05 PM. |

Re: Video out cable
Well, I gave it a whril and got mixed results. Not sure what I did wrong. I opened the case up on the adapter that came with my TP and located the coloured wires. I gently unsoldered the end of the blue wire going to the board and pulled it away. Then I used my iPod video-out cable (which I use with my Creative Zen Vision:M MP3 player for the same purpose). When I plug it into the adapter and then plug the adapter into the TP, I do get the NTSC or PAL choice. I select the default NTSC and hit "done". Then I select one of the programs for output and I do get SOMETHING on the TV...but it's all black-and-white and out of whack. If I pull out the plug from the cable just a touch I see what's on the TP but the image isn't all that good, albeit it's in the correct colours, etc. The cable's plug is a 4-post (some call it prong) one (that is, three white separator bands). It works perfectly with my MP3 player but for some reason not with this.

Re: Video out cable
I just tried it. Popped the case cut the blue wire with some finger nail clippers and tried it out with some rca cables from my video camera. It didn't work. The screen was all over the place. I remembered seeing in another thread that it wasnt yellow to yellow and etc and tried all three in the video slot and it was still a no go. I then tried some rca cables from my mp3 player and it worked great. Red cable went into yellow for the video signal. Thanks super easy fix to get the video out working.

That was my concern - that each brand (Ipod, Zen) have different standards for wiring to the 3.5mm adapter. You could try switching up the cables on the other end, or trying a different adapter. |

Re: Video out cable
Just out of curiousity...a question for those who have gotten it to work with the hack or with commercial cables...how is the AUDIO output?

Re: Video out cable
I thought the audio out was good but not spectacular. Also not very loud - though I don't have the audio booster installed on my phone.
I found the following info about pinouts: http://pinouts.ru/PDA/pda_audio_video_out_pinout.shtml It explains why your Zen cable wouldn't have worked. |
