I gently unsoldered the end of the blue wire going to the board and pulled it away. Then I used my iPod video-out cable (which I use with my Creative Zen Vision:M MP3 player for the same purpose). When I plug it into the adapter and then plug the adapter into the TP, I do get the NTSC or PAL choice. I select the default NTSC and hit "done". Then I select one of the programs for output and I do get SOMETHING on the TV...but it's all black-and-white and out of whack. If I pull out the plug from the cable just a touch I see what's on the TP but the image isn't all that good, albeit it's in the correct colours, etc. The cable's plug is a 4-post (some call it prong) one (that is, three white separator bands). It works perfectly with my MP3 player but for some reason not with this.

That was my concern - that each brand (Ipod, Zen) have different standards for wiring to the 3.5mm adapter. You could try switching up the cables on the other end, or trying a different adapter.
