Hey was it my Diamond thread you're talking about? I just wanted to share this info since I knew a lot of Diamond owners complaining bout their burgundy covers. I gave full credit to xweaponx. I even told xweaponx on here about the thread I started. And I could care less about the "thank" feature. I've been a member here for far too long to concern myself with that. I'm here to learn and share just like everyone else.

Does the Diamond & Touch Pro have the same cover? I know the GSM Diamond has a irregular surface pattern. Are the CDMA battery cover for TP & Diamond interchangable?

I would also imagine that dyes could be mixedtogether to make new colors. I recommend mixing and then dipping old fabric to test the resulting color. Add more of any color to achieve desired affect before placing your battery cover in pot. Remember that if lighter colors will be easier to dye over than dark colors and if all else fails, black will likely cover over any previos color dissapointments...

Also, I went to the Sprint store here locally and asked for a spare cover and they gave me one. They supposedly have a "spares" box... Think I am going to try a crimson red dye next...

i mixed mine and they work fine.... you just have to mix slowly so you dont get too much of a dasrl color..... i used red and black (very little red) to get gunmetal.... and when you mix they do darken so keep that in mind.... i tried with a flat black abnd than the mix and in the same amount of time to dry the mixed dried darker.

i have talked it over and please lets keep this on the topic, i feel i did nothing wrong sicne i did give credit and i didnt take it over to the diamodn thread so i have no clue what you are talking about...... but whatever makes you feel better... please lets keep in on topic though guys...

I wasnt talking about u or Dash. I was talking about the guy who made a big deal about dyeing the stylus like that was even a major contribution. While others like myself stated observations and things that helped achieve the desired results. u know, something helpful for others thinking about doing this.

I just tried it and it worked great. My Walmart was out of black mix so I got the liquid. The first attempt turned out a dark purple that was cool., but I wanted black. I kicked up the heat a notch and 15 minutes later I was in business. I threw some electrical tape under the cover to stop the squeeks and I couldn't be happier. Thanks.

NOW THIS IS WHAT PPC GEEKS IS ALL ABOUT! You are awesome xweaponx.. We all now know how HTC will change the colors for their Touch Pro/Diamond covers... I am planning on getting some extra TP covers to do some custom dye jobs.. I am thinking of getting water and heat proof tape and create custom designs... I will post pictures of the results after I do so... This could be a very lucrative business opportunity too... A few boxes of dye could possibly dye a 1/2 dozen TP/Diamond covers... Sell for $9.99 a piece, depending on how much it costs to get the extra covers.. I will make sure to give credit to you xweaponx if anybody asks where I got the case... And if you walk into a Sprint store with a custom-dyed cover like that, there should be no problem.. Of course, if you need to replace the phone or get it repaired, then it's differnet...

I could just wonder what the people at Walmart would think, if a whole legion of PPC Geeks T-shirt wearin people swarmed their household product aisle looking for Dye... lol

Ill be trying this..will also try to get an extra back cover.
Does the dye lend itself to other non rubbery plastics ?

Might be a great way to dye other electronics without the effort of acrylic paints.

I think I'm gonna try this on the treo 800 too. maybe it'll sell faster
