Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
I think i am going to be brave and try this. Has anyone "Really" put it to the test?
here are a few ideas - Get the cover wet (hot and cold) and rub it.... does it smudge off? put it in the freezer for 1hour ( then try to smudge it) put in the bathroom with the shower on and lots of steam (then try to smudge it) if it holds up to that.......i will say it is good to go. |

I can answer your first one however. When I first took the cover out of the dye, I ran cold water on it. Noticed some parts were smooth and some werent. So I tried rubbing hard on it to see if it will go away. That resulted in no dye getting on my fingers. I then ran hot water thinking maybe it was over dyed and hot water will get rid of some of the dye. Still no dye on my fingers. For the shower test, I think running hot water on it will suffice. I don't see the difference in these tests. Also as I stated in my previous post. Scratching your finger on it has no effect. Nor does it leave dye on your nail. I think you'll just have to try it and see for yourself. |

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
No problem.
Lets just try to keep this thread on topic... Does the Diamond & Touch Pro have the same cover? I know the GSM Diamond has a irregular surface pattern. Are the CDMA battery cover for TP & Diamond interchangable? I would also imagine that dyes could be mixedtogether to make new colors. I recommend mixing and then dipping old fabric to test the resulting color. Add more of any color to achieve desired affect before placing your battery cover in pot. Remember that if lighter colors will be easier to dye over than dark colors and if all else fails, black will likely cover over any previos color dissapointments... Also, I went to the Sprint store here locally and asked for a spare cover and they gave me one. They supposedly have a "spares" box... Think I am going to try a crimson red dye next... CDMA Diamond and Pro battery covers are NOT interchangeable. CDMA Pro covers ARE interchangeable. CDMA Diamond covers ARE interchangeable.

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
I did this last night and can say I was just AMAZED with the results! I'm very picky about these kinds of things and can say I have no complaints whatsoever. After rinsing the die off, I was thinking "what the hell was I thinking?" Don't be alarmed when your cover looks purple and you see uneven die or "scratch-like" marks. The cover darkens and with a swipe of your hand, everything looks fine. Definitely looks OEM.
