Rit dye is a proven method of dying plastic parts in various hobbies, such as paintball parts. Looks like it came out great!

I give you credit for risking your lens cover. Or should you get credit for that? lol

soon as I score an extra cover from my local sprint store i'll give this a try... dont want to do on the only one i have... but i'm certain this will work just fine.

Damn it. Which Walmart did you go to? The one by my work is $1.72. haha. By the way it's in the detergent isle for those who are interested. I'm thinking about doing this at work. Nothing much to do here. I could make a pot from the coffee machine here. Would that be hot enough? Did you have to add salt?

No adding salt. As long as the water is not boiling but too hot to touch, your fine. Mine did not warp or bend. It may actually shrink it to fit better and stop sqeaking too...

i did mine and it looks great. i still have my original one also. i am thinking of doing this to my diamond too. as soon as i get anothher cover for that one. will post pics when i get home
