Re: Another Cracked Chrome!
Yeah, I definitely saw the VZW Sprint Pro thread, I'm in there too. Since mine has been working without issue, I guess I'll leave well enough alone. Too bad I can't look forward to replacing this with a TP2 when they arrive. Since I'm sure Verizon will take their sweet time getting them and it takes a while for them to castrate things for us! However they are the only EVDO service in my area.

Re: Another Cracked Chrome!
Thanks, I feel a little better knowing mine is not the only one to crack there, but mostly to know it hasn't gotten any worse. I guess I'll live with it. However I'm still tempted to call PCD and let them know about it, in case it does get worse.

Re: Another Cracked Chrome!
Dont wait.... it will eventually develop into a hole....... I have one in almost the same exact spot.
Known issue by Sprint... there is a range of TP's they are allowing a free exchange for the issue

Re: Another Cracked Chrome!
I really don't want a hole in my phone. That sounds pretty severe! My dilemma is I spent a lot on this phone at a Sprint store. Full retail. I don't have Sprint service in my area, I'm on Verizon. Lately there seems to be trouble getting Verizon to activate these phones. If Sprint will replace the phone, I may not be able to get it activated. Sticky situation. Cracked chrome on a phone that works and has Voice, Data, and GPS fully functional or a new phone with no cracks that I can't use possibly? Not sure which way to go with this. I may call both Sprint and Verizon and see what I can find out.
If I can somehow get reassured from Verizon, that when I get my existing phone replaced, they will activate, then I won't waste any time pushing for a replacement! |

Re: Does anyone else have a crack in the chrome?
For a known issue, there seems to be plenty of folks in Sprint that don't know about it or how to find out about the issue.
Ecare finally admitted to the issue but said they couldnt order a replacement for me...... so I called Sprint help today. The call center that took my call initially tried to send me to Asurion, so I had to emphatically state it was a known issue and I should be covered by the ESN range of known issues phones.... so she forwarded me to Tech Support....thats where I gained traction.... Tech support asked a few questions, and then said my phone would be sent to me in 2-3 days. Submitted the issue VIA E-ticket. Hopefully I get a new phone not a refurb! |

Re: Another Cracked Chrome!
I did talk with Sprint today. They did say they will replace the device at no cost to me. I have to bring it into the Sprint store where I purchased it, since I don't have a Sprint account. Also, I spoke with Verizon today, who reassured me they would have no problem activating the new replacement for me. So, there should be no worries then. Sounds like I'm gettin' me a new Touch Pro, yeahhh!! At least I'll feel better having spent as much as I did to get the phone in the first place. Sprint definitely confirmed the chrome defect and free replacement notice in their system.
