Does anyone else have a crack in the chrome?
 

OK, for the record, yes, I am very anal.

I noticed a straight, vertical crack on the corner of my Touch Pro. It's not really a big deal, but it's there. I've treated it with great care. It hasn't been dropped and I carry it on its own in my pocket. There's nothing I'm aware of that would have caused it. I'm not sure that Best Buy or Sprint would replace it for this reason alone, and other than a creaky battery cover (which I fixed somewhat with some tape) and a bit of play in the sliding mechanism (which I think may be common), the hardware on this phone seems good. It doesn't really bother me that much, and as you can see it's pretty subtle. I'm just curious if anyone else is seeing anything like this.

Not a crack but a crease. I have it in all corners except the corner with the stylus.

I have the same problem with mine but not on the corner. I noticed it a couple days after I got my pro. I did not drop it or bump it at all and never put it in my pocket. The only thing I can think of is it was like that when I got it but just didn't notice it. Hopefully it is not an issue when I go to exchange it at Best Buy this weekend. I recall seeing a post on this board a few days ago about Sprint admitting certain Pros have a defect with the chrome and you can take it to a Sprint repair center and have it fixed. I don't know if that is true or not.

i am a tech with sprint, and yes, there is a sprint memo going around and YES, if you have a crack in the chrome you can go to a local sprint store and have it exchanged.

the only thing is right now, good luck on finding a store that has one in stock to exchange. there is a back order on these touch pros as we have all heard. with no Pro's in stock at stores, you'll just have to wait till they get some in.

mine has it too. I am certain its just part of manufacturing. To be honest i dont know how the hell you guys all point these things out. I can barely see it.

I am with you..lol...I can barely see it myself if that....but hey..there is one way to get a replacement in the future, when my TP looks like crap a couple of yrs down the road, right now it is working with no issues.

imfillinit, could you get the date of the memo and other important info for future usage to have as proof when going to a sprint store.

mine has chipped on the side and a crack but i think mine is a crack in the plastic not just the chrome

Do you see any problems with me exchanging at Best Buy considering I have a noticeable chip of chrome missing from my phone(assuming there are any in stock)?

I am having other problems with my pro I won't get into now (if it was just the chrome defect I wouldn't even bother exchanging the phone) and emailed Sprint and they said to take it to Best Buy because I got it there.
