Re: Does anyone else have a crack in the chrome?

i see i have the cracks too.
the reflection makes them real hard to spot, but i see they go all the way thru if i slide open the keyboard.
they look more like seams to me. as long as their not falling apart, i can live with it.

Chrome chip

Hey all,

Well, this morning I managed to drop my phone (had it for 2 days!) and while most of it survived, I got 2 nasty looking chips in the chrome on the top right corner right next to the edge. I'm assuming other people have had this happen and I'm wondering, what did you do? Is there a special paint I can use to fill in the chips? Could I use a full body protector to make it less visible? I don't like the idea of having to do a replacement on the device but it's looking like that's what I may do since it's so new.

Re: Chrome chip

Live with it?

Sprint sells a body shell that covers all the chrome too...

But returning the phone because you cosmetically damaged it? Not sure how to positively repsond to that...

Re: Chrome chip

There is a problem with the chrome that is a known issue. If you take it back to Sprint they are suppose to exchange it no questions asked. The catch... the phone has to be within a specific ESN range. If yours falls in that range they are suppose to exchange it.

If your phone does not meet the requirements for the ESN range, and you have insurance, you can probably get it exchanged under warranty.

Note: I have no idea what said ESN range is.

This is a bunch of bull.. yes it is posted but if you drop your phone, then you damaged it.

Saying above is like crashing your car and then saying well it falls within a certain vin range, just take it back, they will exchange it. Any device, any cell phone, is gonna have some form of damage if its dropped, and sprint is not the one who dropped it. If it really bothers you, claim it and pa $50 deductible.

Re: Chrome chip

If you have insurance, they cover accidental damage but you would have to pay the $50 deductible. If you want to take it to a sprint store, I believe as long as within 30 days they can exchange it. That probably depends on the rep though.

Re: Chrome chip

Just called my local Sprint store. They told me to bring it in and they would swap out immediately.

Re: Chrome chip

Bring it in to your local service center we will swap it out for free regardless of insurance...I work at a service center and received this email two weeks ago so we are able to replace the touch pros with scratches or dings on the chrome.
