how deep is the chrome paint? I'm thinking about sanding and using a razor to peel/grind the chrome off and leave the plastic underneath.

Old TP: 10/19 manufacture date - 2 cracks in chrome...
New TP: 11/7 manufacture date. No splits/cracks in chrome...

I got mine replaced at a Sprint store. Here's a comparison picture of the Touch Pros, one with the chrome cracks, and one without:

Im gonna try to swap mines at BB today, I dropped my TP one time and now its looks horrible.

Is it possibel to change out chrome bezel, dropped my phone yesterday and cracked bezel in half. now the bottom section of the phone(glass where the send and end keys) looks like its about to pop out.

i guess i could turn it in on insurance and just get a new one.

At this point I'm pretty sure there are no private methods of replacing the bezel.

This concerns me, though, as I seem to be hearing about this bezel cracking a lot. And as careful as I try to be with my phone. I dropped my Mogul three times in its life. The minor chips and cracks never did TOO much damage other than aesthetic, but it sounds like this phone's much more severely affected.

What kind of drop was it, out of curiosity? Height? Surface?

haha stuff like this makes me nervous too...2 many crown and cokes on a saturday night might be costly...

ive always said chrome on a phone is bad news its always the weakest finish to put on. I called this happening before the Pro was even released. A big reason I stuck with the Diamond instead, build quality is poor on the Pro overall between all the issues people are having like raised dpads, earpieces, loose sliders, and chrome issues

i have 3 small chips in the chrome, not through the plastic though, and i haven't dropped my phone yet. its been in my jacket pocket, away from anything but the phone itself, or sitting on my desk charging. that's it. and nobody else has even used it, besides the crazy lady at starbucks in the upper east side... but i watched her. its a piss poor design though, and yeah...have you checked out trying to find a "dummy" phone on ebay? i saw a few on there... at least you'll have some spare parts for the casing and whatnot. i haven't seen a break down manual of the phone yet, but i'm sure there's got to be one floating around somewhere in cyberspace.
