Does anyone else have a crack in the chrome? - Page 22

Appearently there is an issue with the case and chrome on the first run Pro's. When he took the phone to the Sprint store they swapped it out no questions asked. He was tod that the first run Pro had an issue and Sprint was aware of them. The solution was to swap the phone out with a new one.

I am sure that there are some requirements that they have to satisfy in order ot swap it out, but it is worth a try.

Also dropped mine from 1 foot and the thing cracked, and then chrome started turning black over the next week.. also, after 2 months of use the screen was sliding out crooked, and i barely txt on this phone, i use the blackberry for that. and right above the volume buttons it just peeled off randomly one day.. it seems like the cheome on these things are like fingernails, and all of a sudden one day it chips or is hanging off!!! oh and BTW it was one of the very first ones, and i called and said i was having all kinds of software problems and they replaced it.. the new one is alot better.. feels sturdier, and on the bottom panel, before if i would push the 'end' key it would tilt the whole panel.. doesnt do it anymore!.. so there is definitly a considerable difference between the first and secxond wave TPs

Had some issues getting this refurb'd one to connect to internet.......spent a lot of time with Sprint Technical support, this thing had been wiped clean........had to insert a lot of things. Anyways, I complained to Asurion, they're sending a BNIB to me.

And are they charging you a deductible?

Ya I just got my brand new replacement and i noticed a little crack in the chrome on the screen side. it is exactly where the slider indents is near the bottom. Not a big deal to me since my phones are well taken care of but would probably crack in time either way. If it starts getting bigger fast though I might exchange it at a store. So far I love the TP vs the Mogul except for the simple lack of hardbuttons, but other than that... I'm good.

There's a way to tell if you have the newer chrome bezel. Most likely they changed it on that phone. The new one has a more darker lcd chrome. On the older ones the LCD chrome is not the same color as the keyboard chrome and it was obvious. The new ones, they are pretty identical.

On my Touch Pro, the chrome is peeling off all over the faceplate and even on front edge in the middle right edge. Went to the sprint store they say since you dont have insurance for the phone, we wont replace it for you. And they checked my the ESN for my phone saying its made after the defect was fixed in the chrome. Any suggestions how I go about getting a replacement?
