Re: How do you like your Touch Pro?

This is my 4th winmo phone and i think it is the best so far. I haven't had any problems. My friend complains about her battery life but mine lasts a full day with Bluetooth and push activated.

Re: How do you like your Touch Pro?

I love the phone... and it looks like over 70% of you guys do also... this thread proves just what I suspected, that the complainers are the minority, but are the majority when it comes to making threads... if someone is on the fence, and considering ordering this phone, these forums can give them the distorted view...

Re: How do you like your Touch Pro?

I am definitely loving this phone! I have had no problems with it, and it has met my expectations.

My only gripe is the chrome edge and back cover, but I'll replace the cover when I find a decent one, and I can compromise on the chrome for sake of such a great phone.

I got the wife and kid the Instinct, which is much easier to use and a TON more responsive. The screen on the instinct is more responsive, and there are no lags like I get with the Pro.

However, I got the WinMo phone for its adaptability, not ease of use. I'm getting the hang of it; just got it Monday night.

I'd like to try increasing glyphcache with a registry tool to see if I can stop the pauses in the OS. Might a WinMo noob find information about how to do so by using the search function of this board?
For the Glyphcache update, just copy the attached file to your phone and install it by tapping on it in File Explorer. (Step by step provided below if you need them)

As for the web pages, that's by design of Opera Mobile... it "zooms out" so that you can use your fingers to quickly tap-zoom in on the part of the page you actually care about. It just takes some getting used to it.

--------------
How to Install:
--------------

1. Save the file somewhere convenient, like your Desktop or My Documents.
2. Connect your phone to your computer using your USB cable.
3. When ActiveSync pops up, let it do its thing, and then click the "Explore" button on the toolbar.
4. Copy the file (drag and drop usually works best) to the phone. That said, I strongly recommend putting it on your storage card.
5. Disconnect the phone from the computer.
6. On the phone, go to Start > Programs > File Explorer.
7. Find the file on your storage card (or My Documents or wherever you put it).
8. Tap on the file to open the zip file... then tap on the cab inside... when prompted, tap Install. It will require you to do a soft reset when it finishes.

Click the essentials link in my signature, you will find a ton of mods you can do there with instructions, including glyph cache (or you can just use the file posted above if you don't want to tweak it yourself)

Re: How do you like your Touch Pro?

Hey! Im coning from the Touch (Vogue) and love it. I have had the phone for a week now and the phone gets better and better to me. I feel like the phone has endless capabilities. My only concern at this point is the volume. I feel that the phone (speaker and earpiece) is very low. I tried installing a cab for audiopara but did not notice a difference. Hopefully someone will fix that. But this phone is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!

Re: How do you like your Touch Pro?

WTF Just happend to my MSVC... It worked out of the box, then no, no announcements. Its a known issue that I have to wait for a fix.

Also, the hardware keys for my Pocket Music 4.5 app stop working after screen shuts off. No settings to get around that.

Speaking of Keys. I need my windows key and ok/close, of which, I fixed.

Other than that, its a mogul with twice the screen res and half the battery.

Re: How do you like your Touch Pro?

Well i had to honetly vote i hate it- not the normal just "not liking it," and im far from a newb using WM. And i think the phone runs great. BUT im already on my 3rd one and this one is still bad- the earpiece still has a buzz and rattles as some have found.

Now of course the easy answer is go exchange it, well Im simply sick of going back and forth every few days to exchange it. Its costing me more fustration, time, and $ than its worth keeping now.c Having 3, needing a 4thm in 2 weeks is UNACCEPTABLE when I paid $260 and resigned for 2 years. Much rather go back to out of contract with a Diamond i already had. The really odd part is my Diamond, made by the same HTC, was flawless out of the box and still is almost 2 months later- clear earpiece, flush dpad, nothing loose or creaky. The build quality on the Pro is simply s**t

Re: How do you like your Touch Pro?

This is strange how some of us are having completely different experiences with this device. I got my TP from Best Buy that first Saturday and the only problem that i have is that the phone gets hot while am charging and running apps or talking at the same time. Even then its not as hot as I would expect from a phone with this kind of speed. After a couple of hard resets i have no more buzzing from the earpiece, and everything else works fine. Great Phone in my opinion.
