POLL: Audio Problems on your Touch Pro?

I picked mine up at the Forum BB. Don't think they are liking me very much right now because I've had to exchange my TP twice already. Nice people though.

Ditto. My speakerphone sounds okay and has impressive volume. I have to turn Sprint TV volume down to minimum in office. My earpiece sounds more like your speakerphone recording. It takes all my concentration during a call to understand what the other person is saying. I'm going back to BB today to try another exchange.

Hard resetting did not help mine. Looks like i will be heading back to BB for 3rd try.

At least your best buys have inventory to do an exchange. I've been waiting since Saturday to exchange mine. Still out of stock for over 100 mile radius from me...

Finally some progress. Yesteday, I went to Sprint repair store. They just got their batch of Touch Pro's for sale on Sunday and they were very interested in my problem. The guy who checked me in said wow your phone doesn't sound right. The tech though after not being able to resolve it just said "this is how they sound." They let me hear a phone they had just got in and it did sound the same as mine--bad. I made note of the build # and it was 19965.1.2.3.4, same on the Sprint phone and the one I got from BB.

With hope from others replying to the Poll that their sound was acceptable, I went back to Best Buy, finally got one that didn't have the blown speaker sound. I would say sound from the earpiece is in the okay but not perfect category, definitely something I could live with and on par with my 6700 which is being replaced.

This morning I noticed the build number of this phone is different. It is 19965.1.2.3. Interesting. I don't know if it has anything to do with the problem or not, but I wonder if it could?

Does BB give any hassle doing an exchange, or do they just do it?

On both exchanges BB worked with me with no hassles. It depends on who you get on how helpful they will be. The guy last night was very accomodating in listening to my story and letting me listen to the phone before I exchanged it. The phone had already been promised to another store, but he exchanged it for me. After taking several business calls on the phone today, I would have to upgrade my rating of the speaker audio to darn near perfect and what you would expect for an $800 phone.

I am still deciding if I am going to exchange mine or not. When I first got it, I thought the audio sounded kinda bad from the earpiece. I have hard reset it, and it still sounds....I dont know how to describe it.....like its too loud and the speaker cant handle it, so it crackles. ITs not bad enough where I cant have a conversation on it, but its still noticable. I might wait another week to make sure I will get one from a new batch.

BTW, where do you find the build number?

Edit...Found the build...its in settings>personal>about. My build is 19965.1.2.3
