Couple things I did find interesting are that the 6700 is still available in the channel for $99 on a 2-year contract and the G-phone sucks sales talking points memo mentioned on Engadget Mobile: http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/1...nt-buy-the-g1/ Not a peep about the TP, but lots about the Blackberry Storm, which EM also rumors that VZW is positioning it against the iPhone with aggressive pricing ($99!) thru the holidays. I didn't look closely at pricing for the Storm (since that's not what I'm interested in), but will take a peek again on Monday to see if I can confirm it: http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/31/v...storm-pricing/ |

Re: Verizon HTC TOUCH PRO Information
Checked out Sprint's TP yesterday. I walked away with mixed feelings.
On the plus side: - That VGA resolution is absolutely awesome. You have to see it to appreciate it. - The overall size of the phone. I expected it to be thicker, but it really wasn't all that bad. - Build quality seems pretty good. Not too impressed by: - The responsiveness. It wasn't as "snappy" as I expected it to be. I suspect TF3D will get annoying pretty quickly. - The QWERTY on-screen keyboard in portrait mode is a challenge with that tiny screen. It works, but you have to type sloooowly and precisely. - No landscape mode in email/text unless you slide out the keyboard?? At least I did not find out how. It should have simply flipped to landscape, with or without the keyboard slid out. - The hardware keyboard has virtually no tactical feedback. I looks great, but I found it difficult to accurately type on compared to e.g. Q or Q9, or a Treo 700/800/Pro. I think I'll sit this one out and wait for the Diamond and the Saga to appear as well...then make my choice. Last edited by mobidutch; 11-01-2008 at 10:05 AM. |

I don't think anyone knows that's definitely the case yet. It's all rumors at this point, let's see what specs Verizon releases the TP with.

Re: Verizon HTC TOUCH PRO Information
Lets look at the previous models that HTC has released for Verizon.
Was the hardware crippled on the 6700,6800 and the 6900? |

Re: Verizon HTC TOUCH PRO Information
That's not 128MB of system ram, that's 128MB of storage ram for programs to store on the device (G1). There is a difference. Like our sprint TP's we have 288MB system ram, 256 ram + 32 ram for video = 288. Then, we have 270MB free storage ram for programs. 270MB ram is what I had at least. Not sure for everyone else. But I would at least wait to see what VZW's actual specs are....might be different or it might be the same. Personally, I think the G1 is alot like the samsung instinct. All hype with very limited usability. I like that it's open source but that can cause alot of problems (stability, viruses, etc.) Plus I think the G1 is as fugly as fugly gets.
