Re: Touch Pro Build Date

My original phone was 10/13 and had a keyboard gap that I wasn't happy with...and the buttons stuck out. Wife had another TP from 10/18 that was better physically but sometimes the phone wouldn't work and gave an "operation failed" and she wasn't doing anything fancy with the phone....it was STOCK. So I exchanged both the other day at BB and both phones are 11/7 build date and both look and work great so far. Keyboard gap is much better and I would agree with the consensus that those from 11/7 or thereabout look like they are good to go.

You think I like to find problems? I would much rather NOT find a problem with my expensive, flagship device.

I can't wait to check out the Xperia X1 tomorrow. For some reason, it REAALLLY bothers me that I can barely use the edges of the on-screen keyboard. Hitting the A is really tough, for me. Why have such a nice screen to only manufacture it so poorly? oh well
No Scrap i agree with you, i went through 4 Pro's the first 2 weeks it was out and then told myself its just not worth it. My Diamond i had since its release date was flawless out of the box and the Pro build quality seems much poorer.

I agree its sad that people have lowered their expectations from something that costs almost $600. You wouldnt accept a car with major defects so people shouldnt accept it in expensive electronics either. There is bound to be a few snafus but there are MAN widespread issues with the Pro in manufacturing and build quality.

The screen ill agree is something you just have to get used to because of the technology and the flush screen vs one with edges like the older models (it does make a difference with the layer of plastic to sensitivity). BUT other true defects like dpads, poor earpieces, chrome flaking, loose sliders, etc are unacceptable for something you spend a lot of your hard earned money on.

At some point you have to say to yourself if its worth your time and aggravation and driving to Sprint stores no matter how great a device it may be. I have no clue how some people justify finding time to bring theirs in for a swap once every few weeks or what not, I have a career and other things to worry about first. My Diamond was flawless so i stuck with that, be it HTC still, but i spoke with my wallet and did not purchase a Pro after going through 4.

For me, it's primarily for business use. My company is actually paying for it. They would not be the slight bit happy with me if I bought something that didn't work primarily as a phone. I really need to find out if they make a Pro that doesn't overheat during regular phone calls... My two 11/7 phones, and even this 11/6 seems to get kinda hot...

Re: Touch Pro Build Date

I went to BB on tuesday to swap my phone, They didnt have any in stock so I was told to come back. The manager noted my receipt so that I wouldnt have any problems being that Im close to the 30 day mark. So I went to different BB 2day since they had some TP in stock and the freakin jerk wouldnt swap my phone. He said something about the scraps on my chrome, I asked was he aware of the defects with the 1st released TP's. He says yea they had a recall on the defected TP's b4 they were sold, so noone was issued a defective one.

The AHOLE realy wouldnt swap my phone, talkin bout he's not willing to take the lose (what lose jerk its not coming out of your pocket). He said go back to the store where you bought it....................THE FU***** NERVE OF HIM, IM SO CALLING CORPORATE ON HIS A**, LOL

Re: Touch Pro Build Date

i've been through 3 touch pro's so far from bestbuy. is there a limit to the number of exchanges at bestbuy? they murmured something like I've already had 2 exchanges already when I went in today.

Re: Touch Pro Build Date

Build date of 11/7 on sprint touch pro. Nothing else to compare it to, but everything seems good so far. About the same batt life as my old mogul ( which a $20 2400mah ext batt seemed to triple in my opinion), lasts exactly one day of use.

Keyboard lighting is a little weird at the top its bright and middle is not.
Battery gets a bit warm but otherwise its ok.

Oh and watching hulu on skyfire on a evdo connection for an entire episode of daily show- priceless.
