Ok, in an effort to improve my call quality I downloaded and installed Diamond Tweak. Once you have that installed it unlocks AudioBooster and you can use it to adjust the EQ on your speakers when not using the headphones, turn off the 100db european volume limiter, and switch the volume boost.

So if you're facing speaker problems I can now recommend doing this and setting your phone to use the Bass Reducer setting on the EQ. MUCH IMPROVED. Ignore my earlier statement about the mids being off.

Now I just need to work on getting the ringer to turn on earlier so I don't miss calls.

Guys (and girls), just got back from Best Buy where I was able to change my 10/14 build date with a 10/18 and i'm happy to say the problem is no more. The new device sounds perfect - like my previous Nokia E61i. Don't rely on a software fix when you might have a hardware problem. Don't give HTC a break and let them slide on this. They should be responsible for their QC mistake. Best buy did an exchange with no problems and I was out of there within 20 mins. They actually were familiar with the issue.

Just told them something's wrong with the incoming sound quality and it's hard to hear what people are saying. I told him that my brother got one at the same time and his sounds fine. They had no problem exchanging it.

Just got mine today from BB with a build date of 10/16. Lucky and unlucky, since it was the last one in any best buy in a 100 mile radius.

At least it sounds like they are exchanging them without much of a hassle.
