Mine has a build date 10-19-08. just received mine from EVP if that helps. Still wondering if this file is still needed.

So far for me:

1) 10/13/08
Earpiece- Almost as bad as a kazoo in my ear
Speakerphone- Very quiet, yet still fuzzy, like it was being overdriven
Screen- I could hardly push the x or start menu
Build- VERY sloppy. 7 degrees of keyboard twist. battery cover flexed badly

2) 10/12/08
Earpiece- Not quite as bad, but certain frequencies of voices buzzed harshly
Speakerphone- muffled overall, still not as loud/clear as my Touch
Screen- Easier to push the x, but still no where near as good as Touch
Build- Better than first, but still flexed a bit, and squeaked

3) 10/14/08
Earpiece- Best yet, but still sounds tinny/metallic, and is distorted at high volume (with audiopara hack.)
Speakerphone- Similar
Screen- Identical to my 2nd one...
Build- Best build quality so far. hardly any flex, and no squeaks so far. The kb barely pivots--but still nowhere near as solid as my Touch, or my friends 6700...

What I wouldn't give for a good TP...

My Pro has a build date of 10/16

The speaker phone clarity is really great, but the ear piece is seriously lacking. It is too low in volume and some words are so gargled that I cannot make sense of what people are saying.


So it seems like the build date may not have anything to do with the quality of the ear piece... skimming through this thread someone stated that they had no probls with theirs with a build date of 10/12

Is it a hit or a miss?
