Yeah it is an improvement over the Mogul but still had to install Audiopara to improve speaker volume more. Like the feel better than my old mogul. And I love the GREATLY improved amount of memory in the TP.

Re: Touch Pro Reviews

My first touch pro was fantastic, none of said problems. It was stolen.

The initial replacement needed to be soft reset 5x a day at least, the screen orientation would not change, it would freeze seemingly randomly, none of the same tweaks seemed to work, and the whole package was noticeably lighter than the first pro. Additionally, the keyboard was very wobbly and did not fully slide out at least half the time. BB replaced it no questions asked.

The second replacement (current until later today) is still noticeably lighter than the TP the best buy mobile rep was using. I have had it for 2 weeks and there are already several noticeable screen defects, some of the underlying circutry is now visible, and the screen is discolored in mutliple places. The battery cover is very noisy and wobbly with this pro, but the keyboard seems so slide the easiest of the 3 I've owned so far.

Hopefully number 4 will be the charm! I'm frustrated, but saw the potential this phone had from my first one.

Yea, me too & even with the loud AP it is nowhere near as loud as my old Titan/Mogul's where.

I am 57 years old & don't hear anywhere near as well as I used to (too much loud rock music/loud Harley pipes/gunshots etc over the years) & need it as loud as possible.

The Titan with the AP file was so loud I had to turn it down or it hurt my ears. The TP is still not quite as loud as I would prefer it to be (& I have 3 of them)

Re: Touch Pro Reviews

When I first saw the Touch Pro I was a Sprint Repair store looking into repairing my Mogul. I didn't care to much for the TouchFLO 3D. However, once I got the Touch Pro I couldn't be happier. I love the TouchFLO 3D navigation, the way the text messages and Sprint Music sections appear, that I can get AIM/Messenger Live/Yahoo messengers at once, the Opera browser which makes web pages for mobile phones look much better, and much more. So far, the only real downside to having the Touch Pro is that it gets very hot and the fact that I can't seem to lock the screen easily in the TouchFLO screen.

Re: Touch Pro Reviews

I got mine on 10/31/08 and I'm really loving it. Had a mogul before, HATED the )*@$)*$ing low memory, the TP fixed that quite well.

Over time, and many custom ROMs, I'm realizing that Windows Mobile has a few limitations, including performance/speed. It's truly not a big deal, but no matter what, after a week or so post-flashing a ROM, windows just slows down. Nothing drastic, but it's still noticable, and it's totally analagous to what happens to Windows XP after a few months. Maybe it's registry bloat or something else, perhaps a program I keep installing, but it's *@ing frustrating. Keyboard lag and graphical glitches/lag seem like such antequated problems, why do our multi-hundred dollar devices suffer from those?

Other than those relatively minor gripes, I love my TP!

Re: Touch Pro Reviews

Well i got my sprint touch pro in feb. so far i love the damn thing, i cant stop using it for more than an hour... i've looked around here and at xda and found alot of useful things...
sprint stock rom was just painfull... painfull... painfull... to use, i have so far flashed my phone 3 times... gonna flash again after it charges up some more.
i have used the following roms:
Silence 9
Fallen 2.1
&
KK Loaded 2.0(final ver.)

out of my experience, i prefer silence 9 so far.
kk's messed up on booting, and started to show erratic glitchs.
fallen was working pretty good, but it uses more memory

but overall i love my TP
oh and i'm trying to create my own rom, if any one cares to give me any advise i would greatly appreciate it thx

Re: Touch Pro Reviews

Gotta love it. The most powerful piece of equipment that has ever been developed. and in 4 months it will be time for a new version. Oh well... I was looking to upgrade when I found this phone. LOL so the hunt for the best will continue on its vicous cycle.

As for the phone.... lil learning curve. that is the pro's of it and the neg's = 0.0

Re: Touch Pro Reviews

Thought about waiting for TP2, but decided size of TP1 was better for pocketing vs. larger TP2. Don't need GSM, so choice was easy.

I have to say, I did consider VZW TP, but even just in the store, it was slow and buggered by VZW.

TP1 on Sprint with MightyROM5 is pretty sweet. And Sprint may not have as extensive a network as VZW, but it seems adequate in the urban areas. I am a much happier camper!
