As previous posters have mentioned, the billing program that Best Buy is using is not compatable with Sero accounts.. Fortunatly there is a way around this... It took 3 hours but the steps to get this phone on a sero account are easy to do if followed correctly.
1. Find a BB that has the phone in stock
2. After the BB employee tries and fails to use the Snap (BB) system, get on the phone and call sprint and ask for retentions! Do not let them transfer you anywhere but to retentions! Retentions has the ability to access Sero accounts and add new phone with other companies ID numbers. Do NOT tell CS this or they will not transfer you to retensions. Tell them you have had enough and that you want to talk to retensions.
3. Once you have retentions on the phone, explain to them that you are at a local BB and that they can not access your SERO account from their system.
4. Tell retentions that you woud like them to active the phone using the Best Buy store activation ID. This will allow Best Buy to get credit for the activation even though Sprint is activating the phone.
5. From this point the BB employee will need to have you fill out a manual contract and you should be good to go..

Thanks for this info. It worked great. Prior, I had to make 4 trips to 4 different BBs, some didn't want to sell it, one was willing to sell it, but couldn't access my account. Finally, I went back with your instructions. It took a while to activate the phones (one for gf too), but everything went through smoothly. Thanks again.

Well this should be interesting for me today then. Way back on the 30th of Nov, retentions offered me the 2year upgrade (been on SERO for with my Mogul for 14 months), plus an additional 100 bux credited to my account on purchase, PLUS they offered an additional 100 bux credit in lieu of sending in the MIR. That would make it 200 bones out the door through Telesales or the Sprint Store... I wonder if I purchase through BBY, if after the sale they will still give me the same credits towards my account? Anybody have any experience with getting these 'promise' credits applied after purchasing at BBY?

Also, will BBY be able to give me the 2yr upgrade deal considering I have SERO and have had my Mogul for 14 months on it? I think I remember people saying SERO account members get the 2yr deal every year, is this correct?

Meh, I have faith in the Pro. Perhaps blind faith, but the wifey got a Diamond today, and if the Pro is even equal to the Diamond - I am good to go. I was one of the people who - while having some issues with the Mogul - still found it to be a very good device and I have always been able to work through the issues. The Pro can only get better from what I see and sense.

i want to get the pro but i have a question about the reward zone. i had an reward soon account awhile back but i lost the card (god only knows what happened to it) and i never registered it online. is it possible for me to go to bb and give them my phone number or something for them to retrieve my aacount? also im adding a line to my sprint account. any reasons i wont get the discounts? any answers will help thanks

funny i had to call bb on their 800 number and they pulled up my info from my email address. went to best buy and they printed my 20% discount coupon at the cs desk. they can pull it up by number too as well. a guy in line with me got his added on with no problem as i did too.

My guess is that there is going to be some reciprocity from either BB or Sprint or both. Regardless, I am not happy that two people traveled 3 hours round trip for this purchase after I was told that we would be able to get them. I am in the middle of renegotiating my account, as it is, and this just pushes me me more towards AT&T. I put in an inquiry on the AT&T site to get a visit from a rep and no show, yet. Does anyone have any idea what my best approach would be from here?

the reason they dont want to do it is because they lose "credit" for the sale because they have to manually enter the price.

Well I did stand my ground and even after speaking with 2 managers the idiots at my bb refused to give me the discount. What else am I going to do?
