Got IT!!!!! HTC Touch Pro for spint from Best buy

Picked mine up this morning in Hagerstown, MD.

I'm loving all the additional software that the diamond didn't come with.

One thing that is bothering me is the battery door "clicks" a little bit like the touch does

Ok....question. I called my local BB, they said they will be selling it tommorow. I started my account in March of 08, so I'm not eligible for any account upgrade until March of 09. Will I be able to get any discount at all? I am a rewards zone member, but am I not eligible for the 20 percent off since my account is just under a year old? What price will I most likely have to pay?

you should be able to get the 20 % rewards zone price. you should also be able to re-sign another 2 yr contract to the get sale. you just dont get the 1 or 2 yr upgrade discount.

worse case you can open up another line of service and get it that way...

I went to BB this morning at 10am.. I walked out with my Touch Pro at 1pm!! after 3 hours of rejection, I found out how to get a touch Pro...
As previous posters have mentioned, the billing program that Best Buy is using is not compatable with Sero accounts.. Fortunatly there is a way around this... It took 3 hours but the steps to get this phone on a sero account are easy to do if followed correctly.
1. Find a BB that has the phone in stock
2. After the BB employee tries and fails to use the Snap (BB) system, get on the phone and call sprint and ask for retentions! Do not let them transfer you anywhere but to retentions! Retentions has the ability to access Sero accounts and add new phone with other companies ID numbers. Do NOT tell CS this or they will not transfer you to retensions. Tell them you have had enough and that you want to talk to retensions.
3. Once you have retentions on the phone, explain to them that you are at a local BB and that they can not access your SERO account from their system.
4. Tell retentions that you woud like them to active the phone using the Best Buy store activation ID. This will allow Best Buy to get credit for the activation even though Sprint is activating the phone.
5. From this point the BB employee will need to have you fill out a manual contract and you should be good to go..

imitchely: thanks a ton for posting those instructions, I want to upgrade my touch to the touch pro and that's the kind of issue (activation) I was afraid of running into.

I'll probably wait until they flood ebay until I actually get one...

Thanks to this thread and OP, I just got my Touch Pro from the BestBuy in Yorba Linda, CA. They said that the Touch Pro does not go on sale until Sunday, but they let me purchase it anyways. I have an existing SERO plan ($30) w/the option for the TWO year upgrade, so out the door with the Rewards Zone 20% Discount was $258 with taxes. I am one happy camper

just got my touch from testbuy in frederick, md...
they had a few left, there were 2 other guys gettin em when i got there...

i only had 1 year upgrade, and they wouldnt honer the 20% deal since it wasnt 2 year...

what ever im happy...its gonna take some gettin used to thats for sure...

JUST LEFT BB WTH MY NEW PRO!

I called and they said not till tommorow, but I went in ant told them to check the SKU and it should be available. She did, and got a manager. He said go ahead and sell it. Took about half hour...I did it during lunch!

Reg price 749.99 with 450.00 off for 2 year upgrade
10.00 off with rewards zone gift cert I had.

289.99 + 24.29 tax = 314.28.

I dont think they applied the 20 percent off discount, but right now, I dont care. I was thinking I would have to pay around 500 + for it...so walking out of there paying 314.00 for it is OK with me!

Edit: Went back to Best Buy today, and they refunded me $62 and change for the missed 20 percent discount.

I'm confused on my upgrade eligibility. I've been on Sero since January. So I probably shouldn't be eligible for anything yet, right? Yet it looks like I may be. If I check my eligibility online, it says I need login to the Simply Everything Plus site to check eligibility. So I do that, pick the Touch Diamond, and click "Upgrade." It asks for my number and tells me I'm eligible for an upgrade at the same new customer price of $250 ($200 instant and $100 mail in). So, I'm not eligible by the standard rules, as I understand them, yet the Sprint site seems to be saying I am. I'm wondering what my chances are of the discount being available to me at Best Buy...

I've had mine for about a day. I am probably going to take it back, because at $812 it just isn't worth it. Nice phone, but seems quite sluggish.
