Is it not listed at all, not even with a "NOT CARRIED BY LOCATION" status? I'll check RSS on Saturday, but I'd have to agree that if it's not in there now, that does throw doubt on the news. Generally products hit RSS anywhere from a month to six months before they hit the shelves. I typically haven't seen anything arrive that wasn't in RSS a few weeks ahead, even if it was listed as not carried by location until the first shipments hit the warehouse. |

Re: Best Buy deal and date
well jus to clear a few things up.. the diamond that is in best buy, is the unlocked version (gsm) NOT the one from sprint. and as far as the discount goes with the 20 percent.. if its on a website, the store HAS to honor it. there may not be ads in the store or in the buyers guide at the time, but if you have them bring it up on the website, you WILL get your discount, trust me.. its not like best buy will turn you down.. especially considering how many times i have already priced matched wal-mart, sams, and radio shack.. so its not like they will hesitate to try and keep your business. now like i said before, as for the launch date on the pro.. we truely have no clue, the only thing i can do as of now is to wait until further notice.

Re: Best Buy deal and date
Hey, what's going on my fellow geeks...as you guys can see I'm fresh on the site, but the Raphael (Not only is it an ill phone, but it's also my name!!!) forum is the reason why I jumped into the community, I can't wait to get this phone!!!...
Anyway onto the important news, reffering to 20% thingamabob disc. for RZ customers, I logged in to my RZ and read the fine print and it stated: *Smart phone offer does not include Apple iPhone 3G or Unlocked Phones. Instant savings on phones require activation through Best Buy of new lines of service with 2-year agreement on each line, or a 2-year agreement for qualified existing customers. Activation of a data plan required for savings. See a Mobile Phone Specialist for details. Limit 5 phones per customer. No dealers. Service available in New Jersey. Carriers and phones vary by store. Subject to the terms and conditions of the carrier agreement, including, as applicable, activation fees, credit approval and termination fees. Closeout SKUs not included. Offer valid 10/5/08 - 11/1/08. So two things I ask myself, one is if the date for the Pro is 11/2 then they would be smart (@ssholes) to want to make that disc. be invalid on the 1st, And 2ndly, if we are current customers with full upgrade eligibilty and already have a data what are we to do!!!! (Provided that the phone releases in BB's on schedule and we can take advantage of the offer)...hopefully that was helpful in anyway or maybe fodder for one of our community members to hit us up with clarifications... ![]() Last edited by MeTA-4z; 10-10-2008 at 01:24 PM. |

Re: Best Buy deal and date
[quote=TurboFool;452578]Actually, the PRP policy has bounced back and forth over the years. I remember a short period of time in which it had to be shipped in, but that was the exception, not the norm. But as for your comments about inflating the prices of the phones, I discredited that. The prices you listed were MSRP, not inflated. They inflate lots of things, but with the possible exception of the Instinct (again, I don't have info to confirm), the other ones were normal price.
i'm going to thank you for this thread as you have provided useful info to anyone wanting to purchase the pro @ bb.i'm just warning those like myself that sometimes what glitters ain't gold.if bb doesn't inflate thier prices then why are all the sprint phones between $50-$200 higher than what the actual carrier sells them for?it seems you're a good-natured employee that i wish could've waited on me but the bottom line is you get employees who sell you things and tell you lies just to make a sell.sorry if any bb people are offended but i stand by what i say and i have a house full of portable dvd players, computer, vacuum cleaner, two sprint phones, memory cards,ps2s,and so forth to back me up.
