Best Buy deal and date
So there's been a lot of speculation about release dates on the Touch Pro, and comments about Best Buy's launch date.
Gizmodo has an article with a leaked presentation with Best Buy's launch dates on these phones here: http://gizmodo.com/5060381/best-buy-...one-ship-dates Assuming legitimacy, this means BB will have the phone on the 26th. As a point of interest, Reward Zone members get 20% off all smartphones until 11/1/08: https://myrewardzone.bestbuy.com/ Seems to me that, assuming rumors are false and Sprint stores DO get this on the 19th, it's still a better value to buy this at Best Buy. Assuming this is on TOP of our two-year discounts, this is a fantastic deal. Assuming Best Buy's actually screwing us over and doing this as a way to pocket that discount, for those of us who are under 22 months it's still a better deal than the $75 we would have gotten. Anyway, I just thought it was a good enough deal to point out. Anyone see issues with this that I'm missing? |

Re: Best Buy deal and date
I work at (not for) a Best Buy, so I'm familiar with all the tricks. That's why I'm suspecting they'll somehow apply this discount INSTEAD of the usual renew discount. That said, I think that's probably the most they could manage to do. They usually charge really absurdly higher prices for non-new customers on the phones, but since we're already basing off of the full price, I think we may be safe in pricing estimates. I'm just crossing my fingers that I'm wrong and they really are applying this 20% on top of the renewal discount.

Re: Best Buy deal and date
Not sure on the Instinct, but those are the correct prices on the other two. Touch goes for $529.99 MSRP before contract discounts, and unlocked GSM phones do sell for those prices. If you imported it yourself it would actually be higher in price than that. I have plenty of reasons to trash Best Buy, but your particular examples aren't necessarily bad reflections on them.

Not to tell you that you are wrong but unfortunately you are. The product replacement plan that you purchased on your PS2 does give you a replacement on the SPOT. No service necessary. Now I can easily believe that you maybe brought it in and you weren't helped like you should have been.(I have seen it at way to many stores) Sorry this is a little off topic, but I get sick of people bashing a company when they don't even know what the plan that they bought covers.

Re: Best Buy deal and date
Any BB employees can clarify the terms on this deal that says "or a 2-year agreement for qualified existing customers" . How do I know if I qualify to receive the 20% discount? My phone is less than 1 year old.
