Although, I do have to say that I've added only a handful of 3rd party apps because I didn't want to mess with the more intricate ones and then end up f'ing up the phone.

People have posted some other ones that I will most likely add to the Touch Pro (like the one battery life indicator that shows the percentage of life the battery has remaining).

You know how there are gadget shows and conferences around the world and the U.S. that we never hear of. It's has to do with the fact that we either don't live in the city where the majority of them take place or they are kept so silent that the general public don't know when they are being held. So any of the sites that you go to and they have any information can contain very reliable information. Boygeniusreport, engadget, pdadb and sites of this nature can be used as reliable sources, because they have attended these meetings or have reliable sources that know.

Yup. Just to expand on your point, the internet has completely changed how "news" is reported so much that instead of reporters being limited to TV or Radio broadcasters, now...anybody can create their own webpage, have a blog or news site and that increases the amount of "connections" that people have for "inside" information.

I was just thinking about the fact that 10 years ago, I didn't even have a cell phone that I could use regularly because it was too expensive and still had my pager. The big "fad" was that pagers (aside from Pagenet, who was one of the first) were starting to have the capabilities of providing general news information.

Now, with the advancement of technology and the internet specifically, the resources for information have grown to where people can get news anytime they want because of the integration of wireless devices in connection with the internet.

You're absolutely right...back on subject, the Touch Pro should be coming out on Sprint on 10/15 via telesales or 10/19 in store. Hopefully those dates stick without any delays (unless they're related to fixes or improvements...cuz in that case, I'd be willing to wait longer).

The university i'm currently attending has me amazed at how little the kids around me know about technology. They have pdas like the xv6800, touch, tilt, but still know so little about them. These kids will sit their for hours during class playing games like solitaire. if only they knew of other games out there they could play.
You hit the head on the nail. This is the new future of PDA's almost no need for a home PC's. I remember my home pc in 1995 had the same specs as my xv6700.minus memory.look where we are now. lifes good and wireless!

Re: Touch Pro Coming out in 6 to 8 weeks

Alltel is getting the Touch Pro, I personally just saw an alltel branded Touch Pro in the wild. It looks very nice, Alltel is in the testing phases now, the Diamond just got out of the testing, so expect that shortly, It has p***** everything just fine. The touch pro i just saw had a nice silver trim all around the outside. the camera pics look very sharp wiht 3.2 megapixel.

opera build was 1938.
grpahics looked very nice.
the keyboard is all one piece unlike the the 6800. so if you have big fingers you might have troubles with this one.

So that is the heads up, I am not suppose to be saying any of this, but I was just in town and saw someone with a touch pro, and asked questions, So i personally just saw all that, and Now i cant wait to pick it up.
